Dunno how Blizzard manages to keep doing it, yet again they are out shined by a small dev team, been playing Last Epoch all day since there was a new patch which introduced a new class among other things, yet diablo 4 still doesn’t have paladin, a weak skill tree, even d2 skill tree system is better, paragon table is mid, i dunno, don’t get how d4 just doesn’t feel fun. It was in a better spot in october 2022 during the closed beta when all the npc’s had TTS voices still.

its actually kinda normal and expected.
its like asking how is it that a speed boat can be faster than an aircraft carrier.
larger size isnt a + necessarily, it slows processes down, it makes more people have to ok decisions and makes the chances of something viewed as risky getting through a lot lower.
if d4 was made by 200 people, it would be way more competitive with poe and last epoch, but its made by 9000 people, which means theres a lot more paperwork and a lot more chances for someone to say no.
I have Last Epoch. It sucks. Nowhere near as polished as D4, story is garbage, you really don’t care about the characters.

I’m enjoying my almost lvl60 Electrify Javelin Sentinel that I started in prep for .9.2 (will try RM another time) and I agree LE is very good right now for a small indie game EA. However, it is definitely not at the polish, finish, combat, animation, systems, world, emersion level of D4. Not even close. And while I hope it can reach that level some day, I just don’t see how being such a small shop.

With Last Epoch releasing in December, it seems like D4 cant even claim to be the best A-RPG released in 2023

Don’t worry. Once we get our Midgard expansion pack the Runie will be ours.
last epoch is incredible. ive played 60 hours over the last few weeks. killed d4 for me. nearly everything i wanted in d4 is in last epoch. it’s absurd how much better developed and thought out it is. makes sense tho cause LE is made by ARPG lovers and I’m willing to be a lot of the D4 devs are not even gamers let alone ARPG gamers.
I played a lot of Last Epoch alpha and the graphics look a LOT different. Today it’s more colorful than Diablo 3 with WoW looking models. Before it was grittier and sharper.
LE is considerably more polished and feature complete than D4. You should take another look. You obviously missed something…You could argue story is bad in LE, and I would give you that point, except…WHERES DIABLO IN D4?
Among other things in LE: combat is fluid, modding gear is actually FUN, skill trees are top of the line, and the end game is better than D4.
AND you can play offline if you want…It’s a very long list the ways that LE bests D4.
