Last Diablo game on PS

Well, now that XBox will own Blizzard. This may be the last Diablo game on Sony’s platform. Which to me is a shame. But oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Why’s that? Are you a PS player and don’t want to shift consoles?

It’s unlikely they’ll hold it back from other platforms as they make more money this way.

The worst thing they might do from a PS perspective is put it on Game Pass.

I don’t like the selection on Xbox. More RPGs on PS that i like, Persona, Artelier series and anything SE. Just bummed because i see it happening with Elderscrolls since Bethesda said it’s “easier” putting it on one console.

They won’t keep future Diablo games off the Playstation platform.

There’s all the money to be made as well as their more positive attitude to Cross Platform Gaming (something Sony hate - not a dig at Sony, just not something they like at all).

As an XBox player I think it’s so cool that I can party up and chat with my Playstation buddies (and I’m sure my Playstation buddies are happy that they’ve finally got a game worth playing!!! - nah that last bit’s just a joke).

So I wouldn’t be too worried that one of your favourites is going to be snatched away from your favourite platform. Doesn’t make business sense and MS are much friendlier when it comes to Cross Play.

Eh it will be on pc. and if it isnt a live service… the folks on ole YARRR bay will handle the rest.

Damn are sonyponys really this stupid? How many times does Microsoft have to say that they are keeping CoD and Diablo on PS as long as Sony allows it.

I mean they even said it in court. Before some dolts brings up Bethesda MS never said future releases would be on PS. They said current games would remain. They followed through ESO, Fallout 76, Skyrim, Fallout 4 etc. are still on Playstation. MS said they woild keep minecraft on PS and they have.

I heard sonyponies even try to say MS would try to charge a sub fee to play… i mean talk about paranoid delusions. MS didnt do that with any of the other IPs they own on PS.

Nothing is effectively changing for CoD or Diablo other then anything you buy thats Activision 70% now will go to MS.

  1. MS never said Diablo only CoD.
  2. Look at Starfield, it was going to origianlly be on PS, now MS exclusive. When I say MS exclusive, i am including PC since it runs Windows whoch is an MS exclusive OS.
  3. ESO was on PS way before the purchase on Bethesda same with Fall Out 76.
  4. Minecraft was on ps before the purchase as well.
  5. Anything new from these two companies can be MS exclusive, did tou not follow the trial?

There are a lot of facts that kids do not pay atention to. MS owns Blizzard just loke it owns Bethesda, what ever MS says, they fave to follow orders since they are not their own companies any more. The reason the items you mentioned are on ps, is probably because of a grandfather clause before Microsoft bought them.

There is nothing stopping MS from banning Diablo 5 from being on Sony’s console.

That is why I said last Diablo on PS.

Yes they did… in court they were asked specifically about diablo franchise and Phil Spencer said that diablo would remain multi platform…

I can’t believe you brought up Starfield… its like you guys dont read. MS never said new Zenimax titles would remain multi platform.

Eso, Minecraft, Fallout 76. They dont have to keep them on Playstation they chose to keep them there.

You obviously didnt watch the trial… my guess is you got your news from some pro sony youtuber.

The FTC specifically asked about Diablo franchise.

Watch between the 11:50 and 12:35 mark. The FTC asked Phil Spencer about diablo franchise remaining on and being on future Play Stations.

So its in court records that Microsoft has committed to keeping Diablo and future diablos on Playstation. They never said future Zenimax games would stay on Playstation.

I find it funny that you bring up Starfield… as it was Sonys behavior of buying out 3rd party games that sparked ms buying Zenimax. Much like how sony paid for FF7 remake to never be on xbox or ff16.

Sony trying to snake Starfield from Xbox on the low, then being followed by the news of Phil Spencer saying that they could “buy Sony out of business” (or something to that effect) was some rivalry drama I missed from childhood.

Ya its like that scene when Clark Kent is talking to Bruce Wayne and ask how he stopped the bank from foreclosing his parents Ranch and Bruce turns to him and says.

“I bought the bank”

Classic Bruce.

That depends entirely on one important thing:
Will Playstation give PS5 (and PS6 in future) dev kits to Xbox?

Absolutely not.

Then thats on Sony… if Sony doesn’t supply dev kits for products for their system then thats their issue not MS.

I agree 100%, it’ll hurt them, but the consumer will suffer most in the long run.

What… no only hurts Sony… not consumers lets get that fact straight.

Activision had zero plans to put CoD or pretty much Activision on any cloud streaming service. Now those games will be.

CoD will be on the next generation of switch. Before it wasnt.

Playstation has a choice to hurt its own player base or not. Cod will be there if they allow it.

This is no different then Sony buying Bungie. If Microsoft wants Destiny on the series consoles it will have to give Bungie a Sony owned developer series console dev kits.

I also want to bring up Sonys CEO Jim Ryan’s own email stating that Cod would be on Sony for years to come even after Microsoft buys Activision.

And that Sonys Jim Ryan didnt have issue with the buyout until he tried to leverage Bethesda titles. Jim tried to force Microsoft to give them Bethesda titles or they would oppose the deal. It was only after that was rejected by Phil Spencer did Sony start its anti merger campaign.

Consumers are caught in the middle of all of this, being denied access to titles they don’t have to be denied access to in a capitalist business squabble. It hurts the consumer when companies are willing to spend hundreds of millions in a self created war for supremacy when no one asked for it.

Playstation already has them.
Hint: MLB The Show.

My point was that Sony can easily give dev kits to MS…

Yes, they could.

That says nothing to if they will.

I say this as someone who plays predominately on PS5, Sony is not keen on breaking bread with Microsoft.
