I am just trying to get things sorted for the beta on Friday but whenever I try to launch the game I get an Unsupported GPU error, followed by a grey screen then back to desktop.
Checking the logs it seems the game is trying to launch on my integrated Intel HD 4600 GPU rather than use the discrete GTX 1060.
There doesn’t seem to be anyway to force it to run on the correct card even using windows settings and the nvidia control panel to try and force every exe to use the 1060.
Someone else mentioned having to manually select High Performance for Diablo 4 to get Windows to correctly push the primary video card.
Typing Graphic Settings into Windows Search bar. Then clicking Browse and selecting Diablo 4. Then clicking Options and selecting High Performance.

Also people reported Bitdefender blocked them from getting things to load correctly.
Worst case you can hop in the BIOS and disable your iGPU all together.
Cheers David, I have already done that pretty much every exe is tagged as high performance in graphics settings and it makes no difference.
This is a laptop and doesn’t have the option to disable the iGPU in BIOS.
Never seen that not be an option.
What about in Device Manager? Disable it there?
That just leads to no GPU found
Triple check Power settings or use the power shell command for Ultimate Performance:

I assume you don’t have a physical button on laptop to force GPU? Some weird laptops have an actual button…
Try the following, change your Desktop resolution to something lower, after that up it again then start the game.
Does it still happen?
Are your drivers up to date?
If they arent even close to being up to date, the game will not launch.
Theres a workaround, but I’d HIGHLY suggest updating them before trying it, since theyre still supporitng 10 series cards.
Have tried all of the above, drivers are all on the latest it just seems when D4 tries to run it doesn’t even see the GPU is there.
Im having exactly the same problema with my GTX 1650
Tried all the above, the game just wont recognize The existence of my GPU
Cant play The beta
Well now my GPU is mission from Windows… It seems to have died??
In your Nvidia Control Panel,
Click on “Desktop” (next to File and Edit), do you have an option called:
Add “run with graphics processor” to Context Menu ?
If so, click it, and then
- create a Shortcut of the diablo iv.exe
- rightclick properties and add -launch to the target (f.e. “C:\Diablo IV - Beta\Diablo IV.exe” -launch) and press “ok”
- rightclick on the shortcut and select “run with graphics processor”
Well cant open it any more my GPU seems to have died…
download display driver uninstaller, use it to remove all remains of the GPU driver.
Then download and install a new driver from Nvidia’s official website.
Well I tried it… Thanks for the help but it is probabily really dead
Thanks a lot Diablo IV
Still no joy with getting D4 to see my GPU so I am having a playthrough on my steam deck for now but that has its own problems lol.
