What’s the deal with the rubber-banding lag today? It was a tolerable earlier today but now its nearly unplayable. To make it sure it wasnt, I checked my connection and even logged into Warcraft and there was 0 lag there and no connection issues.

Make sure your playing on an SSD and not HDD. I made that mistake cause im “SMRT”. Once i fliped the game to my SSD all my lag, rubber banding disappeared.
If that doesnt work try resetting your connections.
Games been running pretty flawlessly over the last 4 months.

I too am having rubber banding issues since last night. I have not been able to do anything in game. The ping spikes from 65ms to 700ms to 1800ms. My internet is fine as far as I know.
I have a bleeding edge computer. Not talking good here. I’m talking about the best money can buy in terms of gaming. I also have a great internet connection, though I live on the east coast, so there’s a 100ms ping on average to Diablo 4.
But it’s not on my end, because the problems occur mainly when I go onto NM80+s. I can run a NM50 just fine. If it was my end, or even my internet, I’d see the same problems regardless.
At some point, it’s their servers. With the holidays, and the free trials they gave everyone, I’m guessing they just can’t handle it. And that makes me worry about the Abattoir of Zir, because if it struggles on NM100s, most likely it’s going to struggle more when they have to crunch even larger numbers.

I concur, ping has been very unstable this whole week.
No lag here at all.
Better PC = Smooth gameplay
SSD = Fast loading times
Good internet connection = no rubber banding

The only times I’m seeing lag, like real like, is at world bosses and during helltides.
It seems to be due to some builds/abilities which are causing issues on Blizzard’s side.
The game has a long way to go to be a great game, itemization improvement and server stability.
I would be so happy if we had an option to toggle off seeing people in the open world, except for world bosses and for the Legion event.

I have seen a lot of rubberbanding in NMD lately especially if you are grouped with someone.
Its beyond lag for me its unplayable, especially in dungeons and when a character reaches around level 75plus on seasonal. so fed up.
its not consoles specific. I have a 5800x with 6800xt 64gb memory on nvme. my internet has 0 jitter or packet lose. 70 mb download and about the same upload. yet you watch you character and keys take over a minute for the commands to go through. game is seriously broken. in early hours of morning its fine but peak peak hours lets say 7pm GMT +2 my side when helltides , boss, legion events and other events happen. game over not usable. takes about 30 seconds to open merchant inventory about the same to evade etc. But if I start a new character, its buttery smooth. tried doing all the CMD ip dummpset pinged blizzaed server with no packet loss. I have tried putting all items on new characters, deletiong characters. I have completed wiped my chests even with rare uniques, thrown away femurs, malignents etc thrown away elixers to see if this resolves the problem. I truly wish season 2 was never released.

Sounds like an ISP issue. 70 is really really slow.
Are you running the game on SSD?
70mb per scond is very good I am on nvme
Dont know what nvme is. Im currently clocking between around 400-500 currently on fiber in a major metropolitan area.
It really does sound like ISP tho.
70mb in terms of speed is garbage. It may be good for nvme or whatever that is, but for internet gaming it is poo.
Get better net. You should be rocking at least 250mb/s as a minimum for internet live gaming these days
Yeah i think the last time i clocked 70mb was back in 2010. Which was concider fast at the time.

250mbs a second, sheew thats 1bg of data every 4 seconds a whole blue ray movie shown at high def is about 56gb over. Thats 15gb per min, thats 900gb in an hour. Most networks cant even handle that speed right? What country you all in Singapore or something. you making me cry here. Internet speeds faster than networks.
NVME are ssd drives mounted to your mobo. much faster than normal ssd. FYI
