Tbh i love Diablo franchise and i know that D4 isnt D3 but taking into account the stat of where classes are in D4 and the builds i think that D4 devs biggest flaw right now is is build balance of course there is going to be builds that do better at the end game than others like in d3 BUT in the case of d3 most builds are viable to push end game to push grs(pits) where as in d4 only a small fraction of builds can push even into t4 content and higher sure dev nerf builds or buff them to try and even out the classes but its usually not enough look when spiritborn came out it was buggy af causing it to be op af cool when they fixed the bug they became basically unplayable in the end game now we have 1 new unique and its play able again in the end game but only if you use that unique other builds for spirit born can do t4 but struggle with anything higher is the pits.
ALSO the paragon grind is insane ppl just want to play builds PLAY THE GAME but some build dont come online til 200P+. they had a good paragon system in d3 and infinite one they could apply it somewhat to d4 make the first 300 levels for the tree easier to get and after that point you get a secondary paragon like d3s fist page where you can put main stats like int/dex/str and then you have infinity grinding instead of current d4s grind that feels very counter intuitive to the average player who will never hit 300.
I would also like to bring up resistances and armor they are kinda copying poe in the stance that difficulty(going thru the campaign in poe) nerfs those stats but i dont see the correlation of why d4 needs to do that it make the average player that plays d4 more worried about being defensed capped to do t3-t4 content and then they struggle for damage.
ps sorry for the rant just very confused as to the choices that the devs have taken

Yep. Lack of build variety is D4’s biggest weakness. Someone will argue “you can still do this or that with whatever build.” Get your heads on right and think straight. Do you play any of those builds? No. Because you would find them a miserable experience.
Every build being S tier would be bad for the game. The seasons would be the shortest on record. But you can try to make B and A tiers the norm.

D4 has the same balancing issues as D3. It suffers from the same bait and switch flavor of the month.
Game will definitely be better if they ever balance it. But in there own words “its hard”

ya i agree about the Fotm but at the same time in d3 90% were still viable even if they werent the meta build where as d4 struggles with having a majority of build not strong enough to do anything imo all builds should be able to do up to 100pits min. after sure meta builds are better

Off meta is still viable. Gear check is higher but a lot of people cant make a build without a guide because they dont understand damage buckets.
Where D3 was cookie cutter sets. (Which were the worst imo)
It’s hard because they enable and chase the meta build. As long as they continue to build the game around meta builds, and use multipliers that send the DPS through the roof, either due to bugs or intent the game will continue to lack any semblance of balance and build diversity. It’s not rocket science.
They need to pick line of acceptable DPS and build the game around it and enable all (basic/core/mastery etc.) the skills in the game to be capable of being put into a coherent build and used and complete the game. If a build breaks it fix the cause immediately, not the symptom like they do now which hurts all builds not just the broken the one. Overpower being a good example is/was not the problem plenty of builds used it to make viable builds not doing billions/trillions of damage. Their solution; nerf it and other things into the ground ruining all the builds that also used it that weren’t meta and then try and play catchup to fix it which never works, just like the few buffs coming in the next patch.
Just managed to finish the Season Journey with Pen Shot Rogue (P225) and because of Blizzard deciding I would get terrible drops, less than decent equipment. Not a pleasant experience.
Usually at this point I would roll an alt from a different class but reflecting on the yet another hamster wheel I just endure for no real reward, oddly not feeling the least bit inclined.
Call me when something changes for the actual better.
Seriously ,60 hours on this season and not one single Ancestral FoF. Really, Blizzard?
So Maxroll has a calc tool on their build planner
S-Tier Hydra is 80 billion
A-Tier Chain lightning 212 million
B-Tier Ice Shard 362 thousand
C-Tier Lightning Spear 326 thousand
With such drastic differences there is only 1 build that can reasonably do the high end content.
That and GOOD Itemization & Skills🤦

The lack of balance is seen as a “feature not a bug” and is “working as intended” as far as they are concerned. For some reason they think players enjoy having them dictate which builds you can use and what items you have to use each season. They rationalize this nonsense by saying they don’t want it to be stale, but in reality being locked into 1-2 builds each season (if you have a completionist approach or enjoy pushing your char to try to max the pit) at their whim is way more stale to me than being able to play various alts with different builds.
I don’t get why they don’t get that…
As for the grind, they want the game to be accessible, which means it cant be too challenging for people new to this type of game, but they also need to keep hardcore gamers and streamers occupied for more than 8 hours with a season, so the solution is ramp up the grind of easy unchallenging content to make it take longer.
TBH 300 is kind of pointless, the diminishing returns and lack of things aside from flat stats to invest the extra points in make anything beyond 240ish pointless… unless again you are like me and feel you haven’t finished the season if you don’t do it.

It’s similar in poe, level 91 is good enough the last 9 passive points don’t really matter other then bragging right. D4 well, basicly T1 and glyphs to 45, 200 or so paragon, season journey is over.

They have over tuned the boss ladder and under baked the loot. The rest of the game feels mostly OK and you can get almost any build to T4, but once you are there that’s where the one shots start to come into play because you will finally see mechanics that can kill you despite doing billions of damage.
That your build needs this kind of damage to clear all content in T4 is a bit ridiculous and once of the biggest reasons why diversity is in the toilet.
you should be cruising thru t4 by paragon 200…
You don’t need T4 is the point, you can finish the whole season without touching T4.You may have to group to get a few things done. You don’t even need Mythics tbh
sure you don’t need to but why would you just prolong the experience if you’re goal is to just “finish the season”. Like I don’t understand the people who don’t swap to penitent as soon as they have the option while leveling and the second they hit 60 just try to push into t2 on fresh chars. Like on your first char of a season you most likely leveled it the long way so you had options to upgrade stuff the second you hit 60 pit 25 is doable with the 24 or whatever paragon points you’ll have. Like are most of the people who play diablo just bad at games?
T3 is as far as i got last time I played(season 6) I just couldn’t see the point of grinding the pit,to bloody boring. They need to either get rid of it or add something new for end game.Previous season I played a lot did pit up too 110 or so on homespun builds but over all it’s boring without build diversity.
I don’t think you know what a grind is… it’s maybe 15hours to get your first char into t4 if you’re slow
Lol,3k hours in Poe 1 without trading,I know what grind is
