Is it just me or has something drastically changed in the Undercity?
I see more - 3 seconds etc than the usual + seconds. With no real explanation as to why?
Tried three times and was unable to get to second level

Unable to get to second lvl?
Shouldn’t you always be able to finish the dungeon, but if not within the time frame with much less reward?
I just did a run and it was impossible. I started with 100 seconds, had 20 left at the end of the first level. No elites that grant time at all, just 3 of the sundial-like things. You need to kill surrounding mobs to make them vulnerable to damage, and doing that takes so much time, even with a character 1-shotting everything, there was hardly any net gain to the timer.
Second level, I noticed a few of the elites on the map and some more of the sundials. I managed to reach one of the elites and gained very little time for killing it. I timed out before reaching a sundial. I did’t notice and floating minus time numbers, but in retrospect, they must’ve been there, time felt to be going down much faster than 1 second per actual second.
I was level 21, by the way, paladin. Movement boosted by 24% (amulet and boots) so not even all that slow.
Impossible now.
Update:
I found the exact same tribute in my inventory after the run, so maybe a failed run returns the tribute? I didn’t do anything between the runs so I have no idea what else could’ve given me a new tribute.
The second run was successful. Very close to failing two times but the bonus time from advancing a floor saved me both times. No time-adding elites at all this time but a lot of mobs with the small hourglass that add one second. Planning my route to go through all the packs made the difference with the first run. I didn’t do the big event at the end of the second floor and skipped a few of the smaller attunement totems but despite that I ended at max attunement. So, time seems to be far more unforgiving, but attunement built up a lot quicker.
It seems slow moving characters won’t stand a chance even when killing rather fast. At my low-level at least. The almost total absence of time-adding elites is weird, I wonder if it’s intentional or a bug. Things seem very dependent on lucky spawns now.
Been seeing this also. Red text time removals. I have never seen this before for killing a mob.
I had the exact experience my first run and thought something was bugged. I do believe if you read the tributes they have added penalties (due to Andariel polluting something.. can’t remember exact wording). I think killing the mobs that are infected results in a penalty.
Regardless the complete lack of the normal time bonus elites on 3 of my 4 runs (zero on any floors the first three) was weird. Attunement is definitely easier to gain.
Sounds like Blizzard messed up and this needs to be stickied and reported. Their stated intent was to make penalties far less in Undercity and Rewards far greater. Even before running a Unique or Mythic KU with Cap Movement Speed and one shotting stuff and Subo telling you where everything was it was hard sometimes with bad RNG or when the map glitched and was blank.
This is the new gimmick as Andariel has invaded the Undercity. When her minions hit you they take away seconds from your timer. So that’s what you’re seeing with the negative red numbers. You gotta be a lot more careful in there now.
Yup. Just tried it a couple of times. It blows now.
Sounds awesome for Thorns builds that rely on getting hit. What a dumb mechanic. That isn’t a Skill Check, it is a Build Check with Ranged builds being dominant.
andariel will appear in the end, thats why, its part of her presence
Wow, what on earth is going on here? Is this really how the Undercity is supposed to be now? I’ve failed 3 runs in a row on the first level because I’m being hit by whatever mob does this and there seem to be virtually none of the enemies that grant extra time on the floor. In a game where you get hit basically non-stop, this is sort of absurd.
I haven”t failed a single run or been in danger of failing. Undercity works fine for me.
Same for me. It was tighter at some points, especially when you are lvl 20 around but we managed so far every run.
But i admit, in a party is everything easier.
Impossible to run. Wasted a mythic run, tried to do other normal ones just for comparison, with same results. It seems the time mobs do not actually add on time.
We did three mythic runs so far and everything went well. Ok, we got only one but that’s another story.
Minionmancer and pally as party.
