Kres NPC near Fetid Mausoleum, placeholder text "!Missing! -- 1:MenuLabel"

I randomly came across this NPC named Kres while running around farming mobs in the swamp.

The first line of interaction with Kres is missing, it has a placeholder text “!!Missing!! – 1:MenuLabel”

When you click on the missing interaction, the game UI disappears and you cannot interact with the game any more. You are stuck looking at Kres with the eye icon above your character, cannot move, cannot hit escape to bring the UI back. I closed the window of the game.

Same occurence here too.
Had to manually close program (ctrl-alt-del).

This bug has already been reported a few days ago.

I feel that Blizzard QA needs to write more (or any) automated tests because whatever they’re doing doesn’t work well at all.

Releasing an application in this state was rushed and has many bugs (check the bug forums). If I had this QA team on any of my projects we would all be fired. Pretty shoddy work. Not something you expect from a AAA studio.

As usual, their art department is top-notch. The animations are good. The music is great. The game loops and systems were not well thought out and half-baked. This was evident during the Beta, and evident to anyone who plays ARPGs - did the folks who designed the game systems not play the game themselves???

Sorry, I got off the rails there but this bug is indicative of the rushed state of the game. Makes me sad to see the pinnacle of the Diablo franchise in this state.

Well not to defend them but they always fear the boogie man known as " Data Miners " will kill the story, but that idea has been proven wrong and it did need about 4 more rounds of endgame beta aka Act 4 5, etc to get them sooner.

Was it rushed… Very … Did they do enough… NOPE

Will they fix it? I hope they do and all the minor and major bugs, Time will tell … Time always will tell.

I also had this error. I was able to get out of it though as I clicked in my second monitor space and was able to go back into the game after that.

Same and it used to work fine before patch/season.

I too have this issue, just now. If you wait ~3 min it will let you move again. I was grabbing screen caps for this forum.

Same here, game crashed when I clicked on it. Had to press Alt+F4 and restart.

Same. Took a screenshot of the popup menu but can’t post it. It’s exactly like OP says. Strange bug. I was able to move around after a couple of minutes while working up this post.

It has been reported many hundreds of times and many people have posted screenshots already.

But if you still want to post a screenshot:

How to post screenshots or links:
  1. Upload your screenshot to an image hosting site such as imgur.com, ibb.co, etc.
  2. Paste the link to your image into your post.
  3. Put ` marks around your link, like this: `imgur.com`, or click the </> button in the toolbar.

This makes it easier for people to copy and paste your link into a browser. The sites above do not require an account for you to be able to upload images. Blizzard is not allowed to access files on Google Drives, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. for privacy reasons.
