Knight (Paladin/Crusader) Class: Please Consider the Addition

I know it’s been said before, and the Paladin & Crusader have been in previous games, but I just wanted to say (in hopes the Devs are listening) that a Knight Class would legit be amazing and welcome.

I feel stepping them up to Paladin or Crusader might be a bit out of place for the tone of IV, and figure Knight would maintain the spirit of prior iterations while making room to grow the Class into something more.

Without making too many suggestions, I’d just leave it as I would love to play a Barbarian-sized Knight, cladded in armor, upholding Oath mechanics, and being able to draw upon both Paladin & Warrior aesthetic flavors. And ever since D2, I’ve swapped main’ing between Paladin & Barbarian a great number of times.

I hope someone on the team sees this, and wish ya’ll the best!
Also, those “microtransactions” just hitting the wallet too hard for me to want to buy into much of any of them - please let up a little.

I agree. I think that it is a big miss not to have either the Crusader or the Paladin back in the game. There is obviously a lot they could do with the class in the story. I was definitely looking forward to it and would prefer it over whatever “Spirit-born” is going to turn out to be.

I understand that the devs want to try something “new” for the next class. im cool with that. i think its nice to do something fresh.

but paladin/creusader should have been in the base game. there is so much lore and story in the game involving them, especially the later acts and certain areas. they 100% should have been a playable class for that reason alone. they are the most prominent thing in the entirety of the game yet they are not a playable class. logic.

also, i just want to play my hammerdin/hamsader again. I miss it.

Aggre 100%

Diablo game is not a diablo game without paladin/crusader !!! im gonna **** my pants playing crusader in diablo 4 grahpics

The game is too panderverse to introduce holy classes. You got Rod and his crew saying crap like “Blessed Mother Lilith.” Even in Jest, they are on the side of chaotic unholy evil when they say that crap. They make fun of anything heavenly in the game and give nods at demons and satanic rituals, 666, mark of the beast, 33, 13, unholy cursed numbers. These CA people would stick their head in a burning fireplace if I told them they could see hell.

And if Hell is actually real, they will get their chance to explore it… Fully.

Interesting considering the original Diablo did not have one. Not even with the Hellfire expansion.

Diablo 2 is when the game got good and very popular. The Paladin was a huge success in that. They are making you fight demons. Why not have the holy light crusader to do it with? The total opposite of hell and darkness.

We might get a Paladin two years from now at the same time when Diablo shows up in a Diablo game.

pooping your pants always gets people to listen you and take you seriously

Nope. You’ll never see it. ESG rules the decisions of D4 and anything Holy/Paladin/Crusader/Christian like is forbidden unless it’s being made fun of. These people are literally borderline theistic devil worshipers in real life. That is the opposite of satanists btw, that don’t believe in the devil and just make fun of religions. Neither are good people.

I start to wonder why I even play this after re-reading what I said above…

People have been asking for this since 8 months before the game launched and they still didn’t do it for the first expansion. Ask yourself why.

They claim they’re listening to players etc, but the reality is they have their own “vision” for the game and they’ll stick to it even if that makes the game worse.

They will only ever “listen” to players when players are telling them what they want to hear. All the criticism, all the completely valuable suggestions hundreds of people made in the endgame beta went completely ignored. Over a year of constructive feedback and they haven’t acted on a single bit of it.

The warrior from D1 was basically a knight, and there was a holy armor you could find, called Arkaine’s Valor, that pretty much made you look and feel like a paladin fighting the forces of evil. Paladin fantasy fulfilled.

Funny you wrote that, I had the very same feeling. That will be when this “diablo game” will finally be a real diablo game, with Diablo and the paladin class.

When they say it one time ok fine… but them leaning too much into that gets me wondering sometimes.

The warrior in Diablo turned out to be Prince Aidan who was King Leorics oldest son he was not a Paladin. Just because someone uses armor and a shield does not make them a Paladin. Templars use armor and shields but they are a totally different group from the Paladins and Crusaders. The warrior was not called a Paladin for a reason.

ARPG… Action Role Playing Game. I enjoy it that they are leaning into the RPG side of things. You should try it

Its very likely going to be an angelic valkyrie if the leaked photo was legit. The other classes shown in the artwork were there at launch. That being said, I think another cool twist would be a darker version of a paladin. Not many games do an anti-paladin well.

The Blood Knight is already in D($).

I don’t care what they call it, I just want a Knight class in the game.

I don’t think that they don’t want to do it, but it makes no sense at this point.
Pala is a huge community favourite so it has to come way later to rekindle the flame and make people interested again. Same thing with diablo probably which will be in a later add on I guess.

Something new and unseen in Diablo, how about a Shinto priest type of character, with talismans as it’s spell focus, I’d find that to be fun. Iirc they’re referenced as Omniyoji or something in some cases. Be fun.
