Has anyone tried both, any notes?
I use a razer controller for pc myself. Absolutely superior to kb and mouse. Couldnt go back to it again.
For me it depends on class.
Controller is too good on movement intensive classes that rely on frequent and precise movements like Barbarian and Rogue. I used a dualsense.
KBM seems better on Sorceress/Necromancer imho and should get even better if WASD is ever implemented.
If you already own the controller, then once the game is out, make some tests and decide which one is best according to you (note: I read a comment which said that controllers are best for barb, druid and rogue, and not so good for sorc & necro in comparison).
Note that you can leave both keyboard/mouse & constrolled connected to your PC, and switch as often as you wish on the fly, the game will adapt as soon as you press/move any of the possible devices (switching on the screen the visual shortcuts reminders as well).
Do you have anything physically wrong with you? Do you have muscle memory more for KBM or controller? These are the important question.
I have problems with grip strength. So, holding a controller does not necessarily work well for me; on the flip side, I have to be very aware of hand/wrist/elbow alignment is order to avoid Carpal Tunnels and other such ailments. Many people in my position just use a gaming mouse.
I try both. Its seamless when swiching from one to another. Great job blizz. You can use mouse in inv, and pick up controler to move / fight. Love it.
ā¦ācontrollers are best for barb, druid and rogue, and not so good for sorc & necro in comparison)ā.
Any particular reason for that ? Was gonna use my xbox contā for Necro.
Both at the āsame timeā is the way imo. Chill gameplay on controller, menus etc with M/KB.
I canāt tell more given :
- āI read a comment which said that [ā¦]ā
- Iām not fond of controllers (tried it but returned fast to KB&M)
- I was playing Sorc at the time Iāve tested controller.
With final release, I may give the controller a second chance being tested (I bought it for playing Stray where controller was purr-fectly adapted for the gameplay). I played Diablo 1, 2 & 3 with KB&M, & KB is required for in-game chatā¦
Definitely depends on class. Iāve played both quite a bit over the betas and server slam. I definitely prefer controller overall, but when playing my sorc the mouse and keyboard does feel better.
Teleport and stuff like leap on Barb, or shadow step on rogue donāt have anywhere near the accuracy on controller than it does with a mouse. But over the movement on a controller is MUCH better.
Iāll be going controller even though Iām not a fan of stuff like teleport on it
