Stupid analogy. You don’t need better gear for pvp because everything is normalised. You can fight in lvl 100 item score gear vs someone in lvl 9000 item level gear and you would be at the same level.
Who said your gear will be normalized in this PvP area?
On the other hand you need better gear to do higher difficulty PvE content and with the scaling in place you are in dire need for good gear because if you don’t get said gear the enemys outscale you by a quartermile.
- You need better gear for PvP, especially legendaries, because you’re fighting other intelligent human beings who can strategize. That’s why it’s more difficult.
- If those enemies outscale you by a quatermile but still drop the same exact items as the regular world level enemies, how many people are really going to try to get to that more difficult world level?
This entire game is about making your character as powerful and awesome as possible - so yes, you do play to get colorful bits and bytes.
You new to Blizzard products? That is all they ever did in WoW. Can you guess what developers are working on D4?
But pvp is a much bigger part of WoW than Diablo. Battlegrounds with pvp sieges and objectives. Entire pvp servers. Crazy good gear as a reward for pvp. Quite different from D4.
I agree, Field of Hatred should be open pvp and people should be automatically flagged the moment they enter.
I see no reason for that not to be the case, if people accidentally walk in and get killed by accident who cares, wow you died big deal.
Go revive and move on.

Once you enter PVP zone, all of your gears should be normalized to provide a fair - balance - no one shot - between players vs players.
You go in there like in Div2 Darkzone. Gears are normalized too. Fair play and skills are required.
It doesn’t matter if it is a big portion or small portion, PvP’ers will whine incessantly that things are not fair as soon as they start getting killed en masse, especially by a skill that is OP for PvP and PvE. The only way PvP works is if they have their own skills, their own gear, their own zones, and at that point, you are just making a whole new game for PVPers.
Darkzone is an absolute crap show that almost no one participates in except for griefres and cheaters, and those are not mutually exclusive. There is also no build diversity in that zone. Everyone is running the exact same build, except for the few morons that wander in randomly wanting to try it out.
But the difference is D4 devs have far less reason to listen to Diablo pvpers’ calls for nerfs.
Endgame testers and developrs.
No you don’t as I said if you mirror the gear of two players but on 10x less item level and theirfor stats it’s still normalised. On top of it you can get 2 times the currency to gamble for gear so what?
The pvP part is normalised no idea how the PvE enemys behave for that part.
I still play to have fun and colourfull bits and bytes are a passivly generated byproduct of having fun. I still don’t play for the imbaubersuperduper gear because for me that’s frustrating an it will be achived naturaly even if you don’t focus on it.
As well as PvE players because if you mix both players with different goals in gaming the catostrophy is programmed.

Open PVP? Blizz should shift the PVP areas into the furthest corner of the map so there will be NO accidental cross-over for PVE or for those who need to go from A-B.
Oh 100%. PvE’ers being forced into PvP zone is going to cause a massive uproar. Blizzard are idiots if they think forcing PvE’ers into a PVP zone is going to end well. It will end up with people try to cheat the system. Discord servers dedicated to instance flooding. It is going to be an absolute donkey show.
Do you really believe this? I guarantee you if a skill is over performing in PvP, they will absolutely nerf it with out thinking about the consequences to PvE.
Ohhhhh… it will be gasoline and fire ontop of many other things… Ohhhhh boy…
Otherwise what, you might accidentally walk in and die for you not paying attention be forced to revive and lose absolutely nothing from the experience?
Wow, how traumatic.
Blizz really needs to put this far far away, imagine how horrid that must be, I can see people just up and quitting because of something as horrifying as that.

I do believe it because it’s a pve game and pve skill balancing comes first. Pvp has always been sprinkles on Diablo’s donut… um…

We’ll I wouldn’t use the term idiots because that’s a tad bit offensive. I know where Blizz is coming from and they still think if they mix stuff up it’s fun for everyone. They didn’t get somehow that it’ll be frustration for anyone leading to a PvP only zone or to optional flagging and beeing not attackable by PvP players at all.
As I said i hope they remove the quest targets for PvE quests from the zone and offer some pvP quests instead. First of all PvP players AND PvE players will benefit from it and everything would be obvious. A PvP player could do quests to kill 10 players and to earn xyz currency and to die x times from player dmg and whatnot. This would make PvP more attractive for the people who need “incentive” to PvP because they do Quests that normaly force them into PvE content while doing PvP and never touching PvE stuff if they don’t want to.

They should push it to the furthest corner of the map so it doesn’t conflict with anything PVE related. Also Win - Win for PVP and PVE. Putting a large area right in the middle is like a FU to the face for many players. Believe me… it will cause an uproar.
It will happen…
It doesn’t matter where the zone is as long as the warning what you are running into is big enough. if Blizzard intents to keep the PvE targets in the PvP there should be warning signs all over the place so you know it’s a PvP area.
If this happens it doesn’t matter if the region is in the middle of the world or down under. It might be even better to have it in the middle of the world. makes it easier to rework it into a PvE zone when Blizz realises their little dream of PvP isn’t working out and they go back to Arena fights ^^.
It’s better to push it to the corner of map and save the hassle for development / programer team. If the way you said, it will be too much work for them. Just leave it in the corner. If it dies, it dies and the PVP field is there for others to PVP to their heart’s content. No need to replace anything.
Amazing, at first I thought you were insulting @Donut, then I realized what you were saying, and it made me smile because it still applied.
Guys come in and touch Diablo 4 “Lets have PVP! Lets find easy prey!”…
Uhhh… that is not PVP. That is being a jerk!
“I don’t care! I want to kill noobs and take down easy prey!”
That… is… not… PVP!
“I don’t care! It’s still PVP! I can do whatever I please in PVP!! I want to kill carebears!!”
Sigh… ohhh boy… that…
“I know… zip it! It’s PVP and carebears, I don’t give a ****!”
See the problem here everyone? This is not an atitude for PVP.
PVP is all about fair play and 1v1, 2v2 and GVG and having fun. But no, A lot of PVPers just want easy targets and easy kills to fill their lust for more ways they can spit out toxic remarks and etc.

Don’t really give a rats toss about pvp, what I care about is PvE v PvP balance and how they intend to manage that. The last thing I want to see is some smooth brain PvP “balance” completely F* viable PvE builds and gear.
