Diablo 4 was an excellent concept. Story was brilliant and engaging. Game play was rewarding, exciting and fun. Unfortunately each season a piece of those attributes went missing. Although I am a diehard fan of Diablo, I gotta admit, it’s boring. It’s tedious and really not all that much fun anymore. The specs are antiquated, except maybe SB. They all really need an overhaul for not only power and damage but graphics and abilities. Just bleh is the only word I can articulate for how I feel about each of them. I’ve played them all this season…yes Necro’s were top dogs, but mind numbing to play. And whats with the brown blood??? Really…it’s disgusting looking…looks more like…well liquid (you know no 2). Can’t we make that more like what it’s supposed to be? If we can’t have damage and be powerful, can’t we at least have some cool graphic and abilities to use? I’m NOT looking forward to Season 8…I think you continue to go down the rabbit hole and I don’t know if I can follow you guys again if things don’t change a bit.

I agree with you that their reply was needlessly toxic, but some formatting on your part wouldn’t hurt IMO

As for your averall post, I guess I don’t feel as strongly as you in either direction:
For example, I think calling the story “brilliant” is way overstating it, but I also don’t think the current state of the game is that bad.
Maybe because I’m not as attached to the franchise? (I like Diablo, but I wouldn’t call myself a “diehard fan”).
Maybe it would help more if you said what it is that puts you off, or suggested how to improve it. (you know, tell the devs which direction you’d like them to go, or which direction not to go, rather than just “not this”).
I guess “make other classes’ builds more flexible like Spiritborn” could be a piece of constructive criticism that can be gleaned from your post?

Either way you’re correct. Recently there was some downgrade in graphics and it looks a lot more cartoonish than it used to be
It might be me just being optimistic but I think and hope that 2nd expansion will bring back some of the non-cartoony design back

Just by doing those couple of things IMO the game would get it’s look & feel back quite a bit (the other part being reduction of scaling and DPS down)

Man, no offense, but to be honest, in the current state of d4, the last thing to worry about is graphics and abilities. 
You drew the short straw op. Sometimes you’ll get rational replies. Even if they disagree. Other times you’ll be insulted and dismissed.
Ironically, you should see the gutter trash that some of the most rude & dismissive people post. 65% of the forum posters are just obnoxious.
Spaces between paragraphs are a good idea though.
To be honest, I’m just tired of discussing it. Unfortunately, many people here see only superficial reasons, relatively speaking it doesn’t work well because it’s not “fun”.
To begin with, the concept of “fun” is very subjective and the fact that the game is bad is not a problem of a balance or something minor which can be changed easily.
Diablo 4 is a conceptually bad game, that’s all. The formula on which it is based is the formula of D3, and it is not suitable for ARPG.
This formula has never been suitable and will never be suitable for an ARPG capable of holding a player for a long time. Once you understand this, you will stop looking for a problem in some minor things.
Yea sadly lots of dyslexic people now days and they can’t read anything unless every few sentences are broke up.
S7 and S8 have terrible graphics compared to before
Especially the purple-painted monsters, S8 has a lot of that too with green-ish tint, but at least they’re called apparitions 
S7 in that regard really dropped the ball

Seems we were playing a different game. This certainly wasn’t my (and many others) take on release. Concept was great due to being based on previous games in the series. The rest kinda fell flat.
I do agree with the rest of the post. It has gone down the path of mediocrity to the point where it is no longer offering many players anything to make them want to play. Definitely time for a break. If enough do this to affect the revenue stream so negatively changes then will be made. Until this happens, more mediocrity.
D4 is going to coast until D5. 1 more expansion then this game is heading for slow retirement. Resources are already being pulled evident from broken promises on expansions and the loss of mid season content. They cant even get the content they have now to work. So many passives are bugged. Would not be surprised if it started repeating seasons around 10 to 15. We need drastic action taken by Microsoft.

??? How did this get to live like that? Not one person was like hey shouldnt this be redder? There one time to make stuff redder and they missed it.
could be catered for colour blind players. aside from colours, just hope the art improves, current glossy crayon style isn’t appealing to the overall Diablo atmosphere in my opinion.
