Just curious about banning people

Just curious, instead of banning people for whatever reason why not just disable trading from there account or mute them if they say racist things ect.ect. why do they have to take away someones account?

Just always wondered why companies don’t just disable features that certain players exploit.

Edit: Also my accounts not banned, I’m only level 60 something and I play like once or twice a week for maybe 30-45 minutes.

Because they can. That is all.

If someone buys gold from gold farmers they are:

  1. giving themselves an unfair advantage over other players that play by the rules
  2. ruining the game’s economy, making it so players that do play by the rules have no chance of ever affording anything decent (as we see now with everything decent selling for billions of dollars - amounts that are simply unobtainable without rmt).

Buying gold from gold farmers has been a bannable offense in every computer game I’ve ever played, i don’t understand why all these kiddies are surprised they got banned.

Who are you talking to?

Thats not what i asked though.

Are you familiar with how laws work? It’s a simple “stick method”, basically if you do something bad you can expect to be punished for it, which discourages people from doing bad things.

For example, if you kill someone you will go to jail for life for murder. If you rob a bank, you will go to jail for 15 years for armed robbery. etc

Rules in games are similar to laws in real life. eg if you buy gold from gold farmers, hack the game, use an aimbot, or do anything else that gives you an unfair advantage over other players, then you can expect to be banned for it.

If game developers went soft on kiddies that cheat, then everyone would do it. And then people who play by the rules wouldn’t want to play the game.

So the penalties are harsh, to protect the integrity of the game, and the players that do the right thing.

Because people are finding illegal ways of having fun.

Fun in Diablo 4 is a bannable offense.

But you ignored the answer.
Here, I’ll quote it.

If you read either the End User License Agreement (EULA) or the Terms of Service (ToS) you will find that Blizzard has the right to punish a player for doing something wrong as they see fit, up to permanently banning the account. This is standard procedure for all online games; however, each online game enforces it differently. This flexibility is needed; it allows game devs to decide the level of punishment for each player that commits a violation.

Players can challenge an account ban by contacting customer support and asking to speak to a dev if a dev is not available directly. Sometimes, accounts are banned by accident and that can be reversed if the devs are made aware of it.

Trading is a function that is available across the game, so it will be difficult to just ban one player from trading. This is why the function as a whole has been suspended for now. It’s a step in the right direction, but the devs will have to make hard decisions going forward.

If I had video editing skills I what take this video and turn into about being banned.

“Hacking? Banned”
“Trading an item for gold? Also banned.”
“Putting your controller upside down? Believe it or not, banned.”

No worries, blizz took your idea and sacled all the way to max. Stopped trading for everyone. Problem solved.

because noone wants cheaters in their gaming community. Banning those people just removed them, whereas trade disabling wont.

Severe consequences can deter others from doing the same (bannable) offenses.

Exploits are never healthy for a game. As the saying goes, once a cheater always a cheater.

You’ll figure it out when you get older.

even when the gamers are caught live on twitch to cheat, he refutes the accusation so…

A cheaters will create a mental world in is brain and will thinked he is no cheats and he is just a good player…

They need doctor , and ban from online game.
Cheaters are liars

Just stop exploiting the game, and cheat every chance you get… easiest way to avoid bans.

So, I get the whole “real-world laws vs. in-game rules” thing you’re talking about. But let’s be real, getting banned in a game isn’t the same as going to jail in real life. I mean, in the real world, stuff like robbery or worse has huge, life-changing consequences. In a game, yeah, cheating’s not cool and can mess up the fun, but it’s not the end of the world. We’ve got to make sure the punishment isn’t overkill.

And about the whole “stick method” thing – there’s more than one way to teach someone a lesson. Nowadays, people are leaning more towards understanding why someone messed up and helping them get better. Maybe in games, instead of straight-up bans, we could try things like short-term resrictions or just disable features like trading or chat all together.

Because you signed their ToS saying you agree and accept being banned if you do something that goes against their wishes.

Done there you go, you signed for it.
