I’m shelving my Sorc for now. Leveling is just not fun with this class.
I have 2 Skills that make an effective build. If I don’t use these 2 skills my TTK skyrockets. Compared to my Necro, Druid, and Rogue my Sorc is by far the weakest link.
This class straight up sucks. This is not the “Caster” that Diablo has always had. This is some cheap knockoff store brand Sorc.
I flew through the leveling process. And no, not a FOTM build, Unstable Currents build relying on Crackling Energy for damn near 75% up time on UC. Using CL and AL for CE production. I am cutting large swaths through multiple elites and bosses.
Sorc is a breeze. Maybe you just are not a very good Sorceror.
I came to WT4 and I also put my sorc on pause. For now at least.
Fire DoT is slow, elites often one shot me, for respec I should grind for new equip and I’m not sure new sorc build will be much better.
You press one button, and then you spam a second button while you run around in circles collecting blue orbs so you can press that one button again.
This is not fun. I’m glad you find this type of game play fun but I do not. It is boring.
Yeah I started leveling a rogue. Look, I’ll eventually play them all as I usually do but I’ve never dumped my first class so fast due to boredom of gameplay. The class just isn’t fun - you run around waiting for cooldowns / mana just way too much. Yeah yeah play shards build - great one single build and only exactly the way it has to be plus items. Why even have the other skills then?
Needs a lot of work.
If that is all you think Sorc is, no wonder you are bad at it.
See, the trick is your Cds. If you can rotate your cds, then you can maximize your barriers, and if you can do that, then you have a flat damage buff that is up 90% of the time, provided you have the right aspect on your gear. Top that with proper CE management, and enough UC uptime, then you have a ton of damage output.
Then once you get your CE paragon board. Your CE’s themselves become nukes. Passive damage.
Maybe it is better you not play a sorc.
And you in the other hand are clearly awesome.
If you have no problem with cd then you have it with mana.
If class have like one fairly good build this means class is bad and either to weaek or completly poorly balanced.
If problem is solved waaay in paragon levels than class is just straight up bad cause end game was always for fraction of playerbase.
So, summing up, git gut, finish game, build sorc exacly haw you suppose to and THEN have fun.

Yeah, I looked at the leader boards and all the top Sorcerers are using 3 or 4 defensive spells leaving only a couple for damage, poor rotation design in my opinion and says volumes about the current structure the Sorcerer.
If you like it, cool, I’m not knocking you for it but its not my play style, I’ve moved onto Rouge, it has good offense and defense capabilities that are more balanced.
