I’d say most items in an ARPG like D 4 (and POE 2) gives you nothing but junk that you can sell or salvage. Everything has a purpose.
I agree but it just seems so overwhelming.
Not sure if its just the inventory space or the need for salvage legendary, magic, etc… buttons.
I agree, it is , and very annoying.
In POE 2, I usually pickup everything to sell… but I do this so much. Reminds me of D 2,but not This bad.
At the start of every season in D 4, it’s best to sell/salvage as much as you can cause you need as much resources for your other alts/classes… just in case! ![]()
Most will give you something usable for your play time. D4 fails in this regard. I am not even talking about an upgrade but a usable ancestral. I have a friend at P250 that plays a blood surge necro that still hasn’t found an ancestral focus.
Then there is the codex. 250 hrs. of play and 9.6% total maxed. This is absurd for any game.
Not to mention this is seasonal content and they want you to do it all over again repeatedly. I won’t go on a rant but until attitudes change by decision makers this will not change and it will suffer the same history as D3 in the early days.
I’ve finally started to ignore magical items myself, in PoE 2 mind you. Took a good while. I still pick up socketed and quality items to destroy at the forge though so I get the appropriate items in return. I sell the blues I do get that I won’t use or attempt to upgrade, otherwise I disenchant the rares.
Was definitely slow going though, and currently I only have roughly 220k gold, with a bunch of crafting items. Loot filters will help later on, and obviously when I make an alt it’ll be easier to gear, but the first play through can be painfully slow.
I Disagree, well MOSTLY disagree.
You start a season with nothing. You find loot/gold and other items that you may/may not be able to use for your 1st character, however IF you decide to make another character who Could use that item then it’s Not a Waist. Like I’ve said,
Salvage it or sell it for gold, or Trade it.
On POE 2, I’ve picked up about 60% of items that aren’t even for the character I’m playing! Let alone me finding better gear, even if I were to use those blue/gold face orb thingies…
Yeah, I got a bunch of stuff I really don’t know what to do.
POE 2 for me is turning into a 1 and done. Nothing wrong with it, but I don’t want to invest any more time in the game then I have to.
Yea the zones are just a bit too big, it’s kind of exhausting. I’m still enjoying the game, but I’ve taken a break this weekend to get back into FF7 remake. I think the game still needs some early game tweaks, among other things.
It’s actually been easier once I hit cruel difficulty than trying to get up to Cruel difficulty. Bosses are just being shredded right now in comparison. Felt like swimming through molasses, now it feels like I’m cutting through butter with a red hot butcher knife.
Sooo… Like Diablo 4? ![]()
I just beat some Sand snake in some poison Pit. Died to her once, but I beat her the 2nd time. Fights seem like they take about 6-9 Minutes.
I suppose I really have to get used to (and thinking about) Dodging to avoid all kinds of AOE.
I mean if by dodging I’m invincible.
Stupid stupid little skeleton baby snakes nip at my ankles so bad… had me Hemmed up against the Pit wall while that stupid Snake lady bish AOE’D me. (Lol no Dodging over those things didn’t work).
Meh, I figured it out. Beat her and I’m moving on. I think I’m level 27. That fight made me so tired…
Yea early on the fights are just grueling and take a decent amount of time. I spent way too long fighting the Act 1 boss. Died a decent amount of times, upgraded my skills some, finally got him down.
Cruel difficulty, I bugged him out. First form I literally got him to 5% life within maybe 30s, but the game said that’s too soon. So it made him immune for a good minute, finally made him switch forms and then I could kill him.
It was literally night and day from normal difficulty to cruel difficulty. They need some better balance here.
snickers like a geek as I suck in air to laugh
And here I thought POE 2 was gonna be the Diablo 4 Killer because it was Perfect
They said the same thing about BG3. The hype lasted less than a day for each game. They never learn. That seems to be a trend recently. They never learn at D4 either.
For me the cruel difficulty of the game was much easier than the normal difficulty because i was able to get more damage nodes for my build and went ways stronger so i was able to pewpew down the bosses faster.
Funny thing as i played a monk in starting area and saw my first statchel rat:
