It's starting to feel pointless

I’m leveling up! Get some bits of gear here and there, and even legendaries! Gotta use those aspects and make my toon stronger.

It’s beginning to feel like I’m chasing after “it will eventually be fun” vibe and not enjoying stuff so much at the moment. Character gets squishier, slower, and deals less damage as I progress. I get thousands of armor stat, for example, and it doesn’t give nearly the same benefits as before.

I’m staring at stuff, befuddled, and wondering what the point is.

And I’ve been playing only little over a week.

So, does it eventually get fun? Do you get to a point where you can kill stuff like you did at level 10, or was that time the only time where characters were powerful?

every level it feels more pointless because theres a definitive end and no pseudo-infinite progression.

having a definitive end ruins it all for me.

kind of like when the end of your vacations comes close, it gets harder to appreciate it because the definite end is coming close.

if the 90 to 100 felt like infinity it could work i guess. but we saw ppl there within 1 week in a brand new game with little knowledge on it. doesnt bode well.

You need to chase meta builds unfortunately to feel really powerful. And constantly look at rares to upgrade, imprint and enchant.

You get the feeling for a while after an upgrade, usually weapon, then monsters catch up to you and you need to find another upgrade to feel it again.
Other than that at some point you will realize its all pointless anyway, since its all nightmare dungeons grind and no real end goal ahead, besides Lillith fight

Yea they need to add better loot tables to NM dungeons and Lilith. Atm they drop nothing special or unique to those events

Can’t relate, maybe D4 just isn’t for you, which is completely fine.

Why force yourself to play something that isn’t fun for you, it’s a video game after all, people used to play those to have fun, supposed to be the opposite of a job.

Well, for me, D2’s grind was worth it, because of PVP. In D3, I guess I was hoping the grind would lead to PVP, but the general public stayed clear of it altogether.

I’m hoping PVP will make a return in D4. I’m also hoping for more unique gear than all Diablos combined. I’m also hoping for more viable end game builds (not just one or two per class). One game play mechanic that I wish we didn’t have to center all the builds around, is crowd control. It wasn’t necessary in D1 or D2…or D3 for that matter. So why start now?

In the end, I’m going to stick with this game, because I enjoy finding loot. But if 90% of that loot is useless…

If you ever find yourself asking this about a game it’s time to bail out. Wait for balance patches and content additions.
