The Pit and Gauntlet: the biggest failures of Blizzard in this game.
I do not mention extension, because this is parallel reality what they did with this.
Often i think: Ohh how beautiful and much more fun it would be if i could just kill monsters and do events in helltides over the pits (of hatred).
Pits = Salad & Medicine (working as intended). If there wasnt S&M there would be no Yin and Yang. Sooo… Hooray for boring Pits!!! Pits… Pizzzzz… i feel itchy… scratchy… (turns into zombie)
(( ))
That reminds me… i still have 1cm XP to do till reaching tree-hun-dread. Maybe i just let it be like this as a sign of REVOLUTION
I think one of the problems is that Blizz is forcing us to do certain tasks in order to progress. Having the Pit be the sole place to level up glyphs is a mistake.
Let all mobs drop Obucite, but perhaps certain places have more frequent drops.
Have many places let you level up glyphs instead of just the pit.
Keep the boss drop lists if you want, but increase the possibility that any mob can drop any item. Get rid of all exclusivity.
Basically, let the player play the activities that they find the most fun, instead of requiring that they ride every ride at the amusement park.
I think all activities, if done over and over again, eventually get boring.
I remember when we had to farm dungeons to level up and raise our glyphs. I think we all got to a point where we’d rather throw up than run one more dungeon than necessary.
This is just to say that, in my opinion, they really should avoid locking things into one or two activities.
For example, I’d take the XP farming outside, too. There was a discussion about this a while back, and players had some good ideas, like having zones based on the XP range you’re at. Imagine strolling around, enjoying the scenery, and getting battles of equal difficulty to the Pit 100, which would grant the same XP. A dream for me.
I don’t mind sweating for something, I just wish I could vary activities as much as possible, because individually they can be fun, but doing them endlessly, even the most fun things would lose its magic.
Obviously we’re just having a conversation, I don’t expect it to happen nor for them to listen to me, and I still believe no one is forcing us to do what we don’t like.
I might have a completionist problem, but I’ve already solved it by pretty much doing almost everything in the game, and nothing will force me to do a Pit if I don’t feel like it.
But for the sake of conversation, I understand the general need for more options. In my opinion, it wouldn’t even harm the nature of the game, since they could keep the same difficulty/penalty structure (for example, by introducing glyphs elsewhere) while giving the player the freedom to go where they prefer.
I just hope, though, that players don’t get stuck on the “I WANT” and “IT MUST BE THIS WAY” attitude, because we’re a lot of people and each of us has different preferences.
