It's 2025... This instanced PIT trash is pathetic. Is this it?!?

What the hell is wrong with you, Blizzard?

I remember playing games like Star Wars Galaxies / EverQuest / Diablo II / Quake III Arena / Unreal Tournament back in the early 2000s. It blew my mind. I used to think, “MY GOODNESS! Imagine what gaming will be like in 20+ years?!?”

25 years later… DERP DERP DERP, PIT, DERP DERP DERP, PIT, DERP DERP DERP Hordes, DERP DERP DERP, Cash Shop, DERP DERP DERP…

It’s absolutely pathetic.

I played this season much different than normal. I was chill. I didn’t look up any “pro builds” or anything. I took my time, made my own build that can comfortably beat Pit 100+, and played through the original campaign as well as the expansion / listening and completing all of the side-quests / dungeon lore. One of the only accomplishments I have left is to hit 300. But my goodness… I’d rather watch paint dry. Pit, Pit, Pit, Pit.

You have this big and beautiful world. Why not use it? Make a Pit Tier 100 Open World or something.

I like so much of this game and I want to play, but after running a few Pits, I start to think of unneeded projects I can do around the house…

You can also level up XP in witchtides fast, at least until para 280.

I got a druid at para 274 that can’t do pits 100 solo, permanently doing witchtides.
It can level +1 para roughly in 6 hours currently…

My RG can do pits 100, and it’s still in para 246.
Doing witchtides i can get +1 para in 2 hours currently.
Doing pits 100 it takes almost the same time to get +1 para…

S7 Witchtides are underrated, because players only want to do pits…

Anyway, why do you need to reach para 300?

Completion / Cosmetic / Titles. I want to play the game. I just feel like I have to make my own fun at this point.

Ty for the info, though.

Pretty much what I do in every game. Typically I have to meet the game halfway though. Grinding out Pits is not my idea of fun, so I just choose not to do it myself. I’ll hit 300 paragon on the Eternal Realm in roughly another 8 seasons, I can wait for the mount.

Blizzard doesn’t intend for you to reach p300 in a season… that’s why getting there sucks.

This isn’t new. Neither are you. Why post sensationalist threads like this?

Cool. So ARPGs aren’t for you. Every ARPG uses some sort of iterative, repetitive content to progress, especially the Diablo franchise. There isn’t one that doesn’t.

The entire point is doing 1000x Mephisto runs (or whatever X content) to acquire gear to do Mephisto +X content.

Without that repetitive, iterative content - it becomes just a hack n slash RPG. Imagine every boss having set loot that’s 100% predefined. Kill it once, get everything. That isn’t Diablo.

Pits only good for getting your glyphs leveled. After 46, not a big deal to get them to 100.

I don’t even remember what the ‘rewards’ were; it certainly wasn’t anything worth wasting time on.

As far as I can tell, there’s only one real benefit: when you hit paragon 300, it changes the color of your XP bar to a very nice shade of blue.

And you should!
After all, it’s only a game. And you make the fun you want to play it.
Everybody only sees pits, pits, pits, pits…
I personally only do pits if i need to… ah, and dungeons, and bosses…
Everything else i roam around…
And i fdo just fine…

I did a Pit once, so I could unlock T1. Thankfully I’m not required to do any more unless I want to. I firmly believe that if Blizz unlocked glyph XP so you could level them anywhere, nobody would ever do Pits again.

One day, you might want to move to T2 and unfortunately will have to do another Pit .

Agree that moving Glyph levelling into the Pit is the only solution Blizzard found to make us all run it. Hard to believe but there are players who truly like the Pit. I am not one of them.

So… you never unlocked T2, T3, or T4?

Nope, won’t until T8.

Yea, I’m intending to try it in S8, just to see for myself whether or not a Casual Andy playing ~5 hours/week on a non-meta build can get to T4 in one season. I suspect I can, & if I can, anyone can. But I don’t expect to play much of S8 beyond that.

The Pit can die in an oil fire.

My Barb uses Charge and is in T4. Maybe 20 hours played.

If you are in still in T1 after more than 2 months of season 7, I really don’t see how you could be playing in T4 next season.

Pains me to say it but no T4 without levelling your Glyph. You will have to swallow a bit of Pit to meet your objectives.

I put my favourite tunes on and just kill a bunch of demons honestly if I hit 300 great…if don’t oh well.

But most of the time I just want to beat the living snot out of demons

It’s because there’s no reason for me to care about T2-4. Yes, raven bird pet; no big deal, certainly not enough to motivate me to do the necessary grinding. The only reason I’m going to try in S8 is to see if, despite all the doom-&-gloom prognosticating, I can do it.

I’m likely done with ARPGs after that experiment. I’m sick past my ears of grind.

Of course nothing will be new to you. You spend virtually all of your time on this forum.

Diablo has evolved. It’s not just a Hack N Slash. It’s like they added all of the “MMO” elements besides the fun ones.

Seems they don’t design it for this to need to be done.

Point on environment lacking (outside pit) compared to build power has been at issue increasingly with s6 for sb and s7 for more builds really shining a light on it. S8 will go a ways it seems, we’ll see…

This is why stash is such a pain, so you can feel like you’re doing housework in the game making space for all the loot all the time

God forbid they could rework stash and give us more tabs, fix duping and potentially address vram leaks at the same time. Let’s see that in the roadmap imo.

Um what? T4 is pretty easy, Its only the pit that challenges around 100. Your not going to end up with mythics otherwise. Maybe one. But I dont know why everyone is so negative? I’ve been having a blast. I haven’t even tried a second class since season one. Only Rogue. And the different builds every season have been fun. Ive gotten better each season. Its weighted against your build every time. Just increase the chances slightly with every reset. Blizz has listened to us complain and make changes and THEY HAVE DONE THEM. I don’t know what other game company has catered this much? I’m loving this and cant wait to trap Rogue season 8. I did it in PTR and its dope. Also I’m not gonna hit 300 either. I’m 268. T4 Pit100. This game is amazing. And we should say some good things. Have not even tried another class ONCE!
