stacks are insanely low …
50 gems?
9999 resources?
already filled a lot of them … cant pick up anything else … if the maxed thing drop, like veiled crystal, its just spam on the ground … very annyoing
its 2023 and you started with low and limited stacks?
On a scale 1 to 10 where 1 is worst …
you are like 2 … you need to do better …
9 would be nice …
but at least 5 … dont be lazy

Damn right, man.
In a game about looting, we sure are limited in the amount/stacks for specific resources.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I hit the arbitrary limit of 9999 on material stacks.
This is just bad game design.
They should definitely add more stash tabs, increase the material stack sizes (in the billions), and increase stack sizes for potions, gems and any other items that take physical space in the inventory.
Diablo 3 got the materials stack sizes (infinite) right whenever Reaper of Souls came out, almost 10 years ago.
I can’t imagine how a sane modern game developer put these random limits to crafting materials in a hack and slash rpg, in 2023.

I have only one thing currently maxed out (Rawhide) and it’s already annoying as sin. And the only workaround right now is to transmat it into Superior Leather, which also has a max that isn’t hard to achieve. And even that work around is limited to crafting 20 at a time. So it’s just as annoying as the thing you’re trying to avoid.
I don’t particularly care about the 9999 max… I could never use them faster than I can get them. But, I very much care about having thousands of things in the way of me seeing things I actually want to loot.
Please put an item filter so we don’t have to see the things on the ground we don’t want to see. Or raise the cap… by like a million percent.
In Diablo 3 there was the same problem, only after numerous requests, the limit was increased, in Diablo 4 again the same thing (low stack limit). It’s sad that Blizzard doesn’t learn from its own mistakes, which they corrected in the past, in old games.
They said it was an obvious oversight and that it would be fixed in the next patch.
Quick update for anyone still looking at this thread, there is a temporary fix/workaround for this issue.
Go to the Alchemist, there are two upgrade recives that free up your materials tab.
- One of the recipes upgrades regular ore to silver ore, something like 10 to 1
- The other recipe upgrades raw hide to superior leather, something like 5 to 1
Do note that you can only upgrade batches of 20 at a time.
It’s not ideal, but definitely do this if you reached the cap.
My advice is to, in one sitting, drop down to around 8000 on your common materials stacks, that way you won’t need to worry about having to this again for some time.
From the 1.0.4 patch notes:
“The cap for crafting materials has been increased from 9999 to 99999.”
This is a joke of a change, it’s not that hard to put the stack size to 1 million.
I know. This is just moving the problem out a little bit. Why have a cap at all?
Most computers are 64bit so that max should be around 4 billion, right?
They should at least set it to 1 million, and have a special achievement called “Compulsive Hoarder” when you reach 1 million with any of the resources.
