How does everyone feel about making the max item level requirements 60 since thats when you can wear ancestral gear. I would love to share gear between my characters but dread leveling up an alt to my current point before being able to share those gears.
The item level requirement is completely stupid. There is simply no good reason to require anything above 60.
Well, I don’t know about that but it feels pretty dumb getting crap sacred gear with level 94 requirement when you’re level 94. The gear should have very low level requirement than that tbh.
The correlation with Item Power x req level doesn’t exist and it seems that it is automatically the same level as it drops for you
Correct. Sacred gear should have an equivalent item level requirement (40?) or tie it directly to power level and scale accordingly.
Your character level should not set the item requirements.

The super uniques that drop from 85+ mobs should have 85 item requirement.
Ancestral 60 and Sacred 40.
