Im unable to imprint a random drop Sacred Legendary Amulet with any aspect. The reason for this bug might be that i upgraded it to 5/5 first before trying to imprint.
EDIT: The imprinting has now suddenly worked with the same aspect i tried before on the same item. Don’t know if fixed or the bug happens randomly and fixes itself after some time.
I have the same issue but unsure if it’s related to 5/5 items or specifically sorceress focus.
What item did you do>?
its not just that, I have a ring I imprinted that says that now, AND a brand new rare ring that dropped that also says it without any upgrades. Its like the game just picks random items to block me from swapping or adding aspects.
Just got a new legendary chest I wanted to imprint onto, hasn’t been upgraded or anything yet and can’t imprint to it. The aspect is level 28 and the chest is 38. 
I have this problem too. Just to be clear though, is the Aspect you’re trying to imprint onto your gear a “Sacred Legendary Aspect”? or is just a regular Legendary Aspect?

Yea same, I got all my renowned in Fractured Peaks. Went back to see if I could imprint the same aspect on the same item as before and it worked. Seems to fix itself after awhile of playing.
hi there. got the same prob. i have Ilevel 687 yellow polearm…and i want to insert an aspect to it that is level 586. isnt it because of ivelel difference? or what shoudl i do?
Same bug. Trying to replace an aspect on an item and I can’t… says it cannot have aspects. This is very frustrating because I was in the middle of swapping around aspects on my gear.
I Have the same problem! I have a level 55 Sacred rare amulet, and I have a level 54 Sacred Legendary Aspect. It Keeps saying the samething 
I think I found a way around it, try using a codex, then select any kind of weapon and or accessories but DO NOT imprint! Then Swap the equipment that you want to use and then the imprint that you want to use, that’s what I did. If that doesn’t work, do the same then exit the occultist. Then try to imprint.
I have an item blocked aswell, Ancestral legendary that i cannot imprit : “only rare and legendary…”
I have others ancestral that work just fine… how do i fix that ?
Been farming 5h for that item…

Tried the swap thing, doesnt work. I got 4 new pieces going from sacred to ancestral and cant imprint on any of them. Kinda irritating. Tried killing the game. Tried going to a different location. Messed around for a bit in a dungeon. Nothing.
Same here. Blizzard seriously needs to fix this.
The swap trick doesn’t work for me. The “bug item” keep greying out which is unable to select.
I have had this happen multiple times. Try to farm more gold and then imprint again. This has worked for me both times.
Same issue, game treats ancestral legendary sorc focus as if it were a unique item.
