Item comparison

Make item comparison to non-upgraded versions. You don’t need to remake the whole itemization to do this and we don’t have to wait for season 4 for this to change.
Frankly I wonder why it is not a hot topic, but unless there is a magic button that removes item upgrades in comparison window, it is a really big inconvenience.

why ? seems pretty useless which propably is the reason no one discuses this
tbh i even think it would make comparing harder than it is atm

Really? Non-upgraded item affix will always be lower than the upgraded, but it is actually higher after upgrading. And to figure this out you need to calculate non-upgraded affix * 10% * n (where n is upgrade on equipped item) . Doing this on the fly is convenient for you?
How is it going to make it harder? lol

do u have advanced tooltips on ? they help alot
only stat i see this as useful would be health since it depends on item lvl (and only if u have 2 items with diffrent item lvls) and even than its not neccesary

most affixes dont scale with item power tho for them its pretty easy to compare
e.g. if u see a ring with 7,5% crit upgraded and one with 4,9% not upgraded i instantly know the first one is better even if u upgrade the other one

and since upgrading is very cheap and acutall upgrades in items are rare i just quickly upgrade an item if i am seriously considering using it and than do an in depth comparison
most of the time i am fine doing it on the fly tho

What about non-upgraded 23% against 5/5 upgraded 34.5?
Why argue that comparing different bases is convenient and do arithmetic exercises to clear inventory is normal?

I agree with you, checking if my uniques dropped better is a pain

i can just look at the items and tell if its going to scale higher than what im currently using, getting it to 4/5 gets you close to know whether or not its going to be better and is pretty much dirt cheap as long as im not burning forgotten souls

are you kidding? It’s a very big deal. Why? So you can actually compare items apples to apples rather than guess which is better by min max affix which could be wrong…

Why? Because it’s easy math for a computer game to do in less than an instant and with a press of a button you can compare base stats

Blizzard didn’t include this b/c they have no endgame so they need time sinks.

if u play the game long enought to the point where upgrades in gear are minimal (the only point in the game u might need this feature) u will be experienced enought with the game so u can see at first glance if an item will be better or not - most of the time it will be very obvious its worse and the (very) few times it is so close u cant distinguish it u simply take 15sec to upgrade the item and compare again

so u are complaining about a 15sec time sink every maybe 2-6h+

Honestly, I would definitely don’t like this at all.
The fact that you compare 1/5 to 5/5 items on the same rolls gives a indirect/ unintended QoL feature for endgame : it shows those values of an affix in red , if the same affix is on the item with 5/5. I’m happy to investigate on items which have 3 or 4 red numbers because I know that this item can be crafted with the same affixes and could be an upgrade. In fact I’m only used to look on the red values. Unfortunately it is bugged in S3 and comparison is not applying to affixes you have re rolled therefore it is much more time consuming to identify potential upgrades.
