Could be something they are planning for a later season, and im not sure how it compares to other classes since i’ve only played Sorc so far, but having only 2 enchantment slots feels incredibly limiting. Even doing a single element build, there are so many cases where having a 3rd enchantment would open up a ton of options for Sorcs.

Well apparently, closed beta testers said they had three enchant slots.

They removed the third slot in a alpha to closed beta Nerf of Sorc.
If you check Sorc alpha videos, you will see 3 slots.
They designed the full class around 3 slots with there passives, and removed 1 of them…
Result, the live Sorc, which feels weaker than all other thet classes and there mechanics, and struggle to keep up.

I had no idea there used to be three, that sucks so much they removed one, you can really feel it imo.

I suggested somewhere: They must replace Enchantment Master legendary node by “Increase 1 Enchantment slot”. So that, people don’t get it too early or too late.

So just to nerf the damage of sorcs they remove something foundational to the whole class… no wonder so many sorc builds I’ve tried feel incomplete. They really should just add a 3rd one back at lvl 50.
Yes this 100% needs to happen.
They prob removed it back when paragon was way overturned, back when you could keep all cooldowns spam-able because of ice blades.
Back then all classes were way too powerful because the paragon bonuses were 2x to 3x what they are today. Even rare nodes like attack speed were way overtuned so every class was ridiculous in the endgame
By forceful removal it meant choosing between ice blades and firebolt… so they did accomplish something but in the end they nerfed ice blades to the ground so in retrospect it didnt matter
They nerfed a lot of stuff but the removal of enchantment slot did not achieve anything for them because the stuff they were most scared about they eventually nerfed anyways
It seems like if they did give use back the slot, most would put either teleport or flame shield in there
That wouldnt do squat for dps anyways
Personally i would put icebolt so i can apply chill to everything
