It doesn’t feel good to get an item that has multiple Greater Affixes with poorly rolled power

the patch note reads:

  • The variance on the roll of a Unique Item’s power has been reduced. Additionally, the variance for the strength of the power further reduces for each Greater Affix present.

Developer’s Note: It doesn’t feel good to get an item that has multiple Greater Affixes with poorly rolled power. This change will make it so that a 4 GA item will always have a good roll on the Unique power.

as for my experience, the statement ‘will always have a good roll on the Unique power’ doesn’t quite apply.

following are my examples:
Sidhe Bindings 4GA = 45%(50%)
Fist Of Fate 4GA = 290%(300%)
Fractured Winterglass 4GA = 52%(65%), 72%(90%)
Raiment Of The Infinite 3GA = 2.5sec(3.0sec)

i got similar items with 1GA and its Unique power is either on par or better than above.

i hope devs will review this. although there is lower bound and upper bound of ‘good roll’, but some are really below the expectation, especially the Winterglass.

how is everyone experience?

This is a perspective issue, it depend on how you define “good”

I think 80% is good, which perfectly align to your observation.

I think what you expect is excellent or perfect which is 90% and 100% respectively .

Last season, every one of those would have rolled its aspect in the bottom half percent. Those are good drops. If you disagree, donate them to the needy and keep trying.

yes i am. for 4GA ‘good’ percentile shouldn’t be 50%-100% as like the Winterglass example.

or should i/we satisfied with 50%-100% percentile range as good?

then it makes the campfire just a sugarcoated PR show.

You can think whatever you want, it doesn’t change the fact.

But you do you bro.

it doesn’t. 50% percentile is the new ‘feel good’ roll in season 7.

There is definitely an improvement compared to last season but I admit I was expecting a bit better rolls, especially on 3 and 4 GA items, after what was announced at the Campfire.

The 50% on the Winterglass seems strange. It shouldn’t be that low on a 4 GA item. Never experience anything so bad but I can’t say I found that many 3 and 4 GA items.

even non GA legendary carries better percentile up to the ceiling value.

perhaps they are in different category, not governed by this s7 ‘feel good’ rule.

What I understood from the Campfire is that the lower bound of the RNG range would increase with the number of GAs: Typically:

  • Min to 100% for 750 Legendary
  • 50% to 100% for 1 GA
  • 60% to 100% for 2 GA
  • 70% to 100% for 3 GA
  • 80% to 100 for 4 GA

It doesn’t seem to work that way or maybe the lower bonds are less than I was expecting.

Sometimes it even seems that 750 Legendary are more often closer to 100% than multiple GA items. But that’s just a feeling. I often experience that when farming a specific Unique doing Boss runs: plenty of Legendaries with perfect rolls on main affix and Ancestrals with crappy rolls and then a multiple GA Unique with a good roll drops.

With Unique only loot tables from the Bosses, finding good multiple GA Uniques items is not really hard.

I have made a lot of crafting material in both the seasoned and the eternal worlds, still holding onto a couple of legacy uniques that have change drastically because of the older un-nerfed affix is better suited then what is available now.
