Is tornado build good without tempest roar?

This is the main goal I have for this druid, running a nado with T.R.

Now I am in my early 50s so I’m woundering if its yet the time to switch to nado or should I play lit strike/lit shred until I can get the mighty graal of the druid class ?

for leveling it could be good, for end game content not so much…basically tempest roar will allow you to cast skills with the “Storm” tag during direwolf/grizly rage which increases the damage by a lot, that made tornado werewolf viable for harder content

Tornado is not fun anyways it costs too much without the reduction from grizzly rage

It’s doable and fine playing tornado in human form… I changed to this when i was at 70 because i was really bored playing pulv leveling. Just have the stack the usual (CDR and Spirit cost reduction) on your gear.

Just make sure that you don’t slot the grizzly then as it does more harm than it does good in this case. Petrify to stun mobs and get away would probably my choice here instead.

While tornado is playable without TR, you don’t get the same damage output and by far not the same survivability and resource gain that you get when you can equip TR. The differences are day and night. There is a reason why plenty of people do not recommend a tornado build without TR.

Good, sure, Great? Probably not.

But full disclosure…I have not found one yet! Lol.

I leveled with Tornado to 50. Now running Pulverize while waiting for TR.

it’s not terrible but nothing nearly as good as with tempest, i’m currently running it with no uniques. and using cataclysm / bulwa / howl / hurricane / nado, with the barber and the pull in heart i can clear mid / high 30’s fast enough… i did get a crones staff but i’m too lazy to respec everything just struggle bussing till i get that tempest roar

I think you need to explain what “good” means to you. If it’s viable? It is, and you can do a great deal of content with it. If it’s endgame build? Questionable, since you won’t be able to use grizzly rage tornado, the damage won’t go high enough to do (literally) millions of damage.

I,m woundering if it worth leveling with it (I’m only 56) and farming it later on as a nado druid.

If my killing speed drop for over 20% compared to a typical non unic user bear or lit storm build I’d consider it a liability and would wait prior changing to tornanado.

Yes, it’s worth for leveling and for regular (and maybe low level) NMD, but you’ll hardly be able to do helltides/higher NMD properly due to resource management and the damage not being so good.

I am running in human form but i swapped cyclone for bulwark, im lvl 86 walking thru t40 nmd’s, i have cat as my ultimate
