I cannot whisper, invite, reply or friend anyone in game. The only way I can is to add a friend if I know their battlenet id. Even replies are marked undeliverable. I have all settings correct, set to everyone. I’ve looked this issue up and did not find a solution. Clearly this is not working as it should. I purchased the game and the expansion on Steam.
eventually it had something to do with the VoH update?
my battlenet launcher was kind of angry as well. i had to wait 5 minutes til it found my games for example.

Somewhere in your Blizzard social thing is pending invites. Clear these old invites out and see if it works better.
I have no pending anything. I suspect this has something to do with my chat window not showing an account after a person’s name. In chat, other people are listed only as “name” not “name (account)”.
