I’ve been working on my rogue alt for past day on and off, aiming towards a RF build.
At P262, lvl.50 glyphs, 4/12 MW on all gear and Starless Skies ring I cant really do Headhunts even in T4. Vashran boss takes 5min to kill…
What is even going on? RF is supposed to have pretty good single target dmg. I don’t get it, so many skills seem completely useless lately and it’s tiring making new alts only to realize they cant do much of anything in the game.
I don’t want to play Rain of Arrows just to do content.
I don’t want to play Bloodwave necro to push.
I don’t want to rely on Earthquakes to make any barb build viable.
Why can’t Blizzard make balance more consistent. We have a 2-week PTR and I swear it’s the same issue every season, but this season feels like the worst when it comes too off-meta builds.
RF build is A-tier in both end game/Pit and speed farming.
no way you are having hard time clearing T4 headhuts…
my dance of knife, with random gears can do T4 open world no problem.
Well that’s what the Maxroll guide/tierlist puts RF at, but it no way feels like an A-tier build.
Unless the guide assumes extremely high glyph lvl and 12/12 MW in every slot I am definitely not there yet.
However, I should not be having this much issue in T4 with outdoor content.
Tried switching to Barrage and Pen Shot but those were even worse.
that’s why even partner youtubers no longer create content to promote diablo 4, it’s been dumbed down so much that each season only has one hardcoded viable build.
partner youtubers don’t want to be involved in such a ridiculous retarded scheme.
The reality with RF is that it’s only good for pushing pits / bosses. The AoE is far too limited for efficiency. It also has a very high skill ceiling to be good with. Death Trap rogue slaps and is easy to play, I recommend it. DoK no snapshot variant is alright for farming but is lacking in Pits. The snapshot variant is painful to play so avoid it at all costs.
You should be smoking content. Try using Maxroll’s RF Rogue guide. It’s never easy to fully duplicate a build, but you can get close enough to solve these problems.
I am playing Barrage, currently Paragon 260. I levelled my Glyphs to 70. Was enough. I don’t specially enjoy running the Pit. I believe the max I did was Pit 85. Could go higher but probably not more than P90. My gear is Masterworked 12/12. I am only using the Starless Ring Mythic. Didn’t even bother with the Shrouds I have in stash.
The build works great in T4, perfect for farming in Helltides, doing Hordes or running the Undercity. I am not one-shooting the Tormented Bosses but can take them down in a few seconds. No problem killing Duriel before he hides underground.
Barrage Rogue is B-tier for endgame in Maxroll. If endgame is the Pit, that’s probably right. For everything else it is S-tier, at least it is for me.
Went in rather blind with a Barrage build, myself, and felt I’d capped around T3. T4 just felt like it took too long. Made the switch one of the Rain of Arrows builds and it was unfortunately pretty night and day even if my optimization is lacking and I still don’t have good pants to make up for my missing armor.
There’s another one using Shadow Step/Clones that I want to try, but I don’t really feel confident about it yet since I’ll need a third gear set of ideally 2GA legendaries and my RNG has not been cooperative the past few days. I did luck into the boots for it with 3GA on a set of boss runs, but Shroud eludes me alongside Bac runes for crafting it instead. Haven’t looked into the Trap build, myself, but folks seem okay with it.
The biggest issue with rogue I think it’s his lack of tanky build: not much health, not much armor, not much resistances. You better clear everything before they catch you. Fortunately you can clear everything quite easily with Dance of Knives, though it’s a bit boring to play. Flurry is a pain in the back.
I played a Deathtrap rogue in T4 and T110 pit with non maxed resistanced and 550 armor. I was nearly invulnerable. Because of my high damage reduction .
8/12 and some 12/12. Glyphs 60-70 and RF still feels terrible in T4. Not as bad as last night but feels absolutely like crap still
I avoid all snapshot mechs/builds. My druid main is Cataclysm but I don’t mess with both runewords. Just buffing generic storm dmg and focusing on Lightning Storm.
They need to take a serious look at those runewords/snapshotting…
I am, except using poison instead of cold. Don’t think the difference should be this vast but maybe poison imbue is seriously weak?
The one optional passive is supposed to buff poison by 85% on crits too shrug
I know RoA is smoking everything.
Every rogue and their grandma is playing RoA but I don’t want to, or enjoy it much.
Barrage in melee is supposed to be as good as RF apparently? Only ever used it for AoE clearing like you mentioned.
doing a barrage for some change… hitting T4 still feels bad -_- (i seriously had to find a guide just to do some decent damage and i’m still struggling)
always went RF in the past untill T4 (always stopped playing shortly after reaching T4 because it just wasn’t fun farming for all the stuff you need) the ring does give RF builds some more controll. i could always make it work with only the ring being unique.
on barrage i NEED the umbracrux, i NEED an andariel’s and i NEED a starless, tyraels is also recomended (good thing all of these where random drops appart from the starless)
same with my sorc and spirit born… once i’ve hit T4 i only felt frustrated with everything that was going on and i needed to do.
i’m not sure where to put the blame that T4 feels so bad (but having the seasonal journey having you do it isn’t helping one bit)
