I just completed a 40-minute Helltide event and managed to collect nearly 5,000 Aberrant Cinders. But here’s the issue: there weren’t enough chests to spend them all. By the end of the event, I still had around 3,000 Cinders left, completely wasted. This makes me wonder—should the Red-cloaked Helltide event be adjusted?
Many players face the same problem. We grind hard, survive the chaos, and gather a ton of Cinders, only to realize there aren’t enough chests to use them before time runs out. Would it make sense for Blizzard to add more chests or offer alternative ways to use the Cinders?

You leave my speed farming alone. I need to feel like I’m getting something even though everything that drops is no ga or only 1 ga and never have any aspect upgrades.
I think helltide mode is quite fun. But the rewards are not worth the wait. The drops are mostly from chests and bosses, while there are very few chests to take Heart and too many useless Aberrant Cinders.
Totally agree! It’s so frustrating to grind for Aberrant Cinders only to watch them disappear because there aren’t enough chests. They should definitely add more chests or even new types of rewards to make the grind worth it.
It’s disappointing when you put in all that effort and time just to end up with leftover Cinders. Blizzard should add more chest spawns or even introduce special high-reward chests to spend the extra Cinders.
What effort and time? The current amount of cinders spawning massively reduces the amount of effort and time - most of which is spent running around to the chests after killing blood maiden 3-4 times early on.
i mean, you can just farm enough cinders for the chests you want, no? D=
i mean, realizing you overfarmed 3ish k cinders is a mistake you only make once. Its an avoidable mistake.
I assume you are new, so i think you didnt know the chests so far. put it in your book as “i overdid the helltide”
No content should give infinite amounts of rewards. thatd basically be s5 with the infernal hordes.
Long Story shorts, helltides are pretty rewarding, for leveling, and gearing, considering theres only a 5 minute downtime you can do them all day basically^^
I find helltide farming quite useful for finding initial items, I tried running PIT 100+ and it dropped about 10 items but almost only 0GA items… Other classes have a hard time farming good items, in my opinion helltide combined with Tree whisper quest is the best place to find materials and items. I really like this mode and agree with you that there should be some chests on the helltide maps
I get more mythic drops doing my sf solo runs than getting 1GA items from helltides.
I get mor 1GA+ items from doing pit runs than getting 1 GA items from helltides.
Sad thing: Helltides is an activity that would still provide a tiny bit of fun if the drops were nice.
This to me was just bad event management by blizzard. Whoever thought this was a good event has rocks for brains in my opinion.
Increase the cinder drop rate exponentially but not:
Increase the number of chests
Increase the cost of chest and provide more/better loot.
Have a mechanism that resets the chests, such as opening all the chests in the helltide area to reset the chests.
Gear wise 99% of it was instant salvaged. I only go for the boss mats, unless it has GA or 2 probably not bothering with it. Most 1GA items are barely worth a look these days.
No. The way it is now lets me do the helltide and then go do something else I’d like to do instead of being stuck in the helltide the entire time. I don’t mind having some leftovers if I can get what I want done without the stress of the clock constantly weighing me down.
I do 2 Hellmaiden, collect around 2k cinders and quickly travel trough the Helltide area to open all the chests. I do it mostly for the steel. Gives me enough from a few Grigoire runs. It is extremely rare to get any decent item from the chests. The event makes the process fast and efficient.
Helltide now is better than last season. You can spam blood maiden, get enough cinders for all chests in about 6 summons (9 if HT is in a 3 part area) and be done with it in under 20 mins.
There should be at least 4 yellow chests in hell tide, and not at 250. Up it to 400 at least. Y/day I collected 4800ish cinders and spent them at all the chests and still had over 1000 left and nearly tore my hair out
