I had always thought the number of Neathirons one’d get was incremental all the way through. From 61 to 101, you get 20 to 60. So you’d get 70 at 111, etc.
With one of the latest patch the game actually shows how many materials you get on the screen, and that’s when I thought some of the numbers was not as expected.
I tested for some runs. In my tests, Pit 102 would drop 60 or 61 Neathirons, Pit 103 would drop 61, 62 or even 64, while Pit 109 on one occasion only dropped 63, that’s even less than Pit 103.
Can anyone confirm that it’s random beyond 100 or 101?
I thought I saw that same thing on one run last night. It was a reduced number than what I expected over a 100 plus level, but I figured it was because I died once.
Edit- tested this a few times (without deaths) at 101 I get 61, at 106 I consistently get 62. So dying wasn’t it.
Normally you’d expect to get 65 at 106 though
Oh I agree, I was just saying death didn’t take any away like I thought.
I stuck with 91 and 96 bc they were faster and I knew what I would get.
I also noticed the monster levels stuck at 199 max.
91-50 neathiron
96-55 neathiron
101- 59 neathiron
106 - 62 neathiron
109- 63 neathiron
I created a topic about this, since I’ve had 60 drops on 101 for the last 2 weeks, and 64 drops on 110 instead of 69, although many streamers had 69 drops, I thought it was a bug, but now I checked, everything is the same. But most likely the others had a bug with a drop of 69 and blizzard just regionally fixed it, now Rob has even updated the drop, where after level 100 he adds 0.5, not 1.
Is your pet picking them up before you get a chance to?
always got 60 per run at tier101 , dk what op is talking about.

64 at pit 111 which should be 70, pit up to 101 drop the expected amount 60 at 101 for example
Pit 101 consistently drops 60 irons. Anything above 101, the increment drops and is no longer +1 iron per tier.

Pit 101 is always 60.
It’s after Pit 101 that thinks get RNG. This wasn’t the case prior but after midseason patch, the amount you get is a random number added to 60 apparently, it’s unclear how the game determines the amount.
Pet has nothing to do with it.
Up to pit 101 they drop by increments (increase per level) of 1 at 101 = 60. After 101 they drop in increments (increase per level) of .5, So at 106 it’s 62.5 not 65.
I believe this is why 101 is the most efficient to farm, if you can clear in sub 2.5 minutes.

101 gives me 60 per. 110 gives 64. 101 is more efficient. The boss fights aren’t that much longer, but a few neaths isn’t worth the inconvenience.
111 gives me 64 every time, if it was .5 per level that would be 65 not 64. At any rate it didn’t always work this way so something is either broke with it or needs better explanation because efficiency wise as others stated 101 is best simply because the reduction in materials makes no sense
Not sure of the exact match…I just know it’s not 1 level increase equals 1 more material.
Why 101 is king, it’s the last level before the “Whatever” reduction per level is.
wow how backwards is this, worst scaling of rewards, it should go UP not down.
smoking something something.
Pretty sure your pet doesnt come into the pit
Just came here because I noticed the same thing. I can burst through a 101 in just under 3 minutes but 111 takes about 50% longer without the rewards scaling appropriately. What’s the point of making the effort if you’re not properly rewarded for it?
I dont know if anyone mentioned it but do infernal hordes. Way more nethirons in t7s/t8s and so much faster to gear up.
Not sure about drops anymore…
yesterday did 20x pit t100… 0 sygian stones… Zero… what do I bother… Same with the blood… sprinkles in after many, many hours… solo play in D4 is just horrible.
