Is the idea to nerf and never buff so every class is just ... miserable?

Yes, Diablo has secretly been taken over by the Lords of Hell who want you to suffer and scream in pain every time you play their games.

I don’t think Blizzard wants to make an un-fun game, or have people be frustrated and unhappy, so the things that are a real problem will quickly get fixed.

But I also suspect that people will still keep [rhymes with witching] and whining so loudly that eventually everything will end up like D3, because that pretty much happens in every Blizzard game. Or marketing comes along and says “your game is not accessible to literally EVERYONE so please make it more approachable to casual gamers because we want to make more money.” because that definitely happens too lol.

This guy unironically reads pcgamer articles
necro nerf was terrible, though. I hope the hotfix did it justice

Let’s not forget what happened in D3.

Players: Yo difficulty is too hard give us buffs!
Blizz: ok here’s buff.
Player: OMG game is so easy can you increase monster difficulty?
Blizz: ok we introduce Torment levels.
Player: Bro game is too difficult give us buffs!
Blizz: ok here’s more buff.
Player: Can we get more diffuclty please? I’m 1 shotting everything.
Blizz: ok heres even more Torment levels.

D3 is now at Torment 16 lmao.

Thats very disingenuous
The entire progression of D3 is numbers going bigger without a reasonable ceiling. Torments are one bandaid fix for the disparity of stats between your average rift difficulty compared to adventure mode (in which torment 16 isn’t even close to your numbers in high rifts) and not some mindless feedback fiesta

Here’s my hot take: Since no devs seem to actually rebalance anything correctly, they most always end up making something completely useless, then retweak later; instead of nerfing the class or skill, just BUFF everything to bring it to that level instead. Boom.

So why i was oneshoting every single mobs with my hydras sorc? WT 2? STrange we had a different experience, or maybe you need to learn that Hydras are not affected with +x% cold damage.

I maxed out hydras even got them to skill 8 with legendaries and 4 heads couldn’t 1 shot a trash mob, you might of been on wt1 and not known?

Yea all the YouTube videos are wrong my exp is wrong everyone except you seems to notice how bad they were, you talking about the last beta? Can’t be serverslam

I don’t know but there certainly seemed to be people posting videos of their sorcerers which did not seem horribly awful.

Wudijo, the guy who soloed Ashava, seems to think Hydra is workable:

Thank you for refunding! Please go play Tetris or hearts or something less challenging.
“I refunded” that’s because you suck a$$.

These cry babies want the game to be super easy at level 1… we saw like 5% of total content of this game… you typically start out a bit slow… get some gear, more skill points, paragons, build out your character and with that comes gradual power increases.

Once you get the “sucky” classes their class quest and those abilities, they grow stronger. The Butcher is supposed to be terrifying, but later on when you have enough gear, skills, progression, and you pay him back, it will feel glorious.

Ah well, whatever, each to their own.

Once again this comes down to a skill issue on your end sorc still melted face same with rogue and necro played perfectly fine

Then with all due respect why are you still here in this forum?

Players: Loot drop rate sucks, can you increase it?
Blizz: Okay, here’s more loot
Players: Yea but like I want it to be exactly the item I need
Blizz: Okay, here’s a cube that lets you do that
Players: Ugh, I got every single item I needed and even though I’m OP I want to be more OP
Blizz: Okay, have these ancients, they’re legendary but more legendary-er
Players: But I want them at max roll
Blizz: Okay, have these primals, they’re even more legendary
Players: This game sucks, when is Diablo 4 coming out?
Blizz: You have a phone right? We got a game in the works
Players: Nah, but like we want a PC Diablo
Blizz: You can play the phone game on your PC too
Players: Give us the real Diablo, Diablo 4 not that Immortal crap
Blizz: Fine, here you go
Players: Why are Druids fat?

The author of the article is a complete moron. At no time did he offer any constructive criticism. He just kept hitting on that it’s boring.

Another quality article from PCGamer. They should probably just remove the gamer part because there’s not a gamer among them.

Just want to point out he made that prior to actually playing it. Notice he doesn’t actually show anything but math. Yay over the entire course of it’s summon it does x damage. I’m not saying hydra didn’t deserve being toned down however they went too far. Now I will be keeping it at lvl 1 as it’s only good as a “burning source” for other skills. Ice blades were completely butchered. Currently there is zero reason to put a single point in it. In fact I didn’t see a single sorc use that skill the entire time I played server slam. This is just a sad example of the sledge hammer balancing blizzard has been known for. Nerfing a skill to the complete ground is lazy/bad balance

I’ve said it in another thread. If you truly believe the balancing changes they have made, are purely off the level 25 and level 20 betas, it’s being pretty ignorant.

These changes I guarantee you were made based around what they were seeing in the end game closed betas happening. Blizzard doesn’t care about balancing the game around the first hour and a half worth of play. Unfortunately you’re just going to have to get through an hour and a half of struggling while gaining levels (which is literally the fundamental design of an RPG), and at least see how it plays out later on.

All of you people basing class power off level 20 and 25, need to cool down a little bit

And gear with literally “increases damage by 32,000x” stats lol.

Sadly, the hotfix did not.
