Is Season 1 Hardcore really this dead already?

Friday evening I logged in for World Boss, I showed up and was the only one there. Saturday afternoon Solo’d a WT4 legion. Yesterday midday there were 3 people at world boss, this morning I was the only one again. My local players tab has shown 1 or 0 people for the last 4-5 days.

Is hardcore season 1 really this dead? I think there are more people playing Quakelive than Diablo 4 right now.

With the exception of yesterday, I usually saw around 5 people at a world boss. I think we’re over halfway into the season now and I imagine most people have already got their 15 kills. The bosses aren’t really worth it beyond that and perhaps the weekly bonus cache.

They should have reset season when I reported the cross realm exploiting…
so this is what we got till next season I guess.

Yea, this is a good point. I’m a little late getting my 15 kills and you’re right-- there isn’t much incentive to do world boss beyond that.

Yeah I’m late too and it sucks now trying to complete them. Yesterday I ended up soloing one so I guess that’s my fallback plan lol. Mostly I’ve been struggling with catching their spawn timers - always seem to miss it or it happens at a bad time. I think I wish they just had specific set spawn times so you could plan around it (like 3,6,9,12).

I did the 15 kills very early in the season and also had to solo them since not many people had reached those levels yet

But lately there usually has been 5-7 people doing them. I also like to do them just for the change, rewards don’t matter so much. I just wish the fight was more a challenge.

Well… as you well know, once a hardcore character dies, it’s permanent.
They all got themselves killed… no coming back from that.
Practice with softcore and get good on the game and try again Season 2

Most people skip world bosses because it’s always a “carry” of low levels.

Season was over for me one day one. Just completed the first cave for the season quest line and as I left the cave the game froze. Logged back in to find my level 7 Druid dead. Started a new one got to the same point and it froze – again. Yeah, this time my toon survived but my desire to play was dead. Total PoS game. Metacritic needs negative scores to properly describe how bad titles like D4 really are.

I started s1 two weeks late because I was out of town. Out of about a dozen irl friends who all played since launch, I have one that still plays. We’re both 90+ on HC and as soon as we finish the grind to 100 we’ll likely both be done for the season.

I doubt I would have lasted even this long s1 but I’ve had a very niche build for barb that I had theorized shortly after release that I wanted to see through. Didn’t quite get it built during preseason, so seeing it play out now and be awesome definitely helped, but the game is already a graveyard and there’s no endgame carrot.

Ive loved Diablo IP since the original, but d3 took a few years after launch to really get going. I’ll probably just give d4 some time to grow as well. I just wish some of the growing pains d4 needs weren’t things they already solved in d3. So many nonsensical moves so far it’s crazy.

Hit 100 and completed a tier 100 nm dungeon on hc. No interest in uber lilith and uber uniques dont exist so season is over for me.

Yeah, just lost a lvl60 to a disc from D4 Servers, not worth it playing and dying to some bug related server… HC is dead.

Just lost my 87 Druid a couple days ago, my screen black out mid battles …. When it came back on, my Druid was gone.

Game crash, system crash, internet crash…etc… when you die just because of those, it kills all motivations to do anything else.

I noted that most of the towns, legions, worldbosses were usually empty, hell tides … may be a couple here and there. But otherwise, it seems pretty dead done gone imo

We’re only a third of the way through the season if they’re supposed to last 3 months. Every world boss i’ve done so far has had 5+ people.

Funny enough, after 4 days of 0 local players and soloing world boss/legions… I posted this thread and since then, every WB I’ve been in has had 5+ players.

Way to inspire them

as soon as i complain about doing them solo I suddenly see people nowadays.

Also just watch the lag sometimes…

Well, you are not alone even though I play on softcore, I faced the same situation as you before. I am the only player while waiting for other players but no other players came in the end.

There’s more people playing HC in Project Diablo 2(a D2 mod) than there are in this game.

I played several hours yesterday & never saw another person anywhere.

So much for “MMO”.
