Is scaling additive or multiplicative with glyphs, skills, etc?

I’m just trying to figure out the maths in my head.

How does it all really add up or multiply up?

Say I have +20% poison damage from a skill, +20% from a legendary node, +50% from a glyph…

Does that go 20+20+50 = +90% damage?

Or does it multiply? 1.2*1.2*1.5 = 2.16 aka 216% damage

you can check it in your stats

Options > Gameplay > Advanced tooltips and such. If you enable all the options it should give you information about how each affix works.

The basic answer is yes. Some of it is additive and some of it is multiplicative.

See the response from Miss Cheetah for how to find out.

Thank you@!

Is there anywhere I can see the companion bonuses? I can’t seem to find them on this page sadly ><

It depends. If you have advacned tooltips enabled it tells you like this [+] or [x].

Would be nice with an advanced “advanced” tooltips, where the underlying math is shown.
Example, I have an amulet with 14% CDR. I put on a helmet with 14.6% CDR. My total CDR is now 26.6%.
Where’d those 2% go?
I know where they went, but it takes a few moments to calculate it, unless you make a spreadsheet in Excel (which still takes time).

There are a lot of people wanting more clarification on damage buckets as well as the math used. Mostly because the math does not make sense to a lot of people.

the advanced tooltips don’t tell you anything. they are garbage. i don’t know why anyone else would support this answer. blizzard are trash at documenting how this game works which is why everyone goes on the forums to find out.
