I’m not sure what you’re trying to imply… Both raise the dead, both have the ability to perform combat abilities.
They’re one in the same essentially.
Perhaps you can explain your request a bit?

If it counts in your book, thorns necro is an end game monster.

You could do a melee necro, but you only want a golem as a friend. Bone Armor skill is a must. Maybe even both curses. Some blood skills to make you tankier. I don’t know for shure what is the best way, but it’s shure a skellyless build.

Sword and board works for necro, I did sword and board, blood lance as spammable, kept the mages (loved the generator mages).
Ultimately though, build it up, have fun with it.

You can turn your skeletal mages into frost mages and their is a Unique 2H Scythe called Bloodless Scream that makes your Darkness spells chill.
