Is it ok to update Direct Storage file?

I know Direct Storage is not or is not fully implemented in Diablo IV yet. I am curious if its ok to replace the dstorage.dll file with the official updated file from the Microsoft Direct Storage API. Quoting the recent developer post:

The Blizzard EULA explicitly prohibits cheating, bots, hacks, and any other unauthorized software which automates, modifies, or otherwise interferes with the game.

I realize the Blizzard updater will overwrite this file anyway, but the latest version of Direct Storage (1.2.2305.1502) has fixed some previous bugs and improved buffered file IO and OS caching.

Also curious why Blizzard is using an old version of this file (1.0.2205.2402)

I’ve checked with process explorer and process monitor, as far as i know dxstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll at the game directory never being loaded. so i doubt direct storage is being implemented/activated in the live version.
