Is it just me? The refund posts

The constant “I just refunded my game” posts and the constant wailing of “omg this was too hard i did not get cosmetic” posts are really making me love Diablo 4 even more.

Gating cosmetics between noobs and better players has always had me hyped. I REALLY HOPE blizzard makes more harder content and COSMETIC rewards.

Is it just me that enjoys the tears? Or am i like a sadist and bad person LOL?

It really wasn’t that hard… I did it on my Necro, not first try, third try, but I didn’t feel that it was that much of a challenge. The first time it was my fault too as I didn’t know hiding under world boss would dodge the swings so I kept dying, but I figured it out and I think I delt a decent amount of damage on my last and sucessful try.

Edit: Did it on Tier 2 without knowing Tier 1 WB was going to be easier… :face_holding_back_tears:

Yes, you are a bad person. Turn yourself into your local police department.

BUT, that makes me a bad person too, as I do find them rather amusing, as if it makes a difference. AND then announcing it in general, like we are at Grand Central Station, and all departures need to be announced…

OP, can we be friends? The tears were indeed fun, some of the refunders turns out tried to refund from free accounts, some did actually refund, some refunded and re purchased. Either way it was fun challenging them and getting ignored.

I had alot of fun both in game killing ashava and on the forums.

Right on brother.

For me, I enjoy all the people saying that Barbarian was unplayable and they couldn’t defeat whichever boss and they just kept dying, etc. Makes me love playing Barb that much more.

Your hopes and dreams will be crushed in 3 seconds whenever Jimmy the complete and utter noob world tier -1 spends 5k in the shop and looks like the most badass Sauron-looking, destroyer of worlds-looking necromancer you have ever seen.
But, I do agree that some cosmetics should be in-game rewards only that would differentiate the less dedicated players from the more dedicated ones.

Posted this before, gonna repost it here.
Plot Twist: The Cry of Ashava is just literally seeing the number of cries of people in the forums and the Trophy itself is a screenshot of the sob threads of these people on your mount :joy:

Maybe they add some cool graphic effect that makes other people cry if you pass them while on your horsie with the trophy equipped. :beers:

So much drama over a cosmetic that most of us will probably not even use or replace after a week or so. :trophy:

Most of them are destiny 2 tourists looking for the diablo equivalent of free trials of osiris adepts as they know bungo will eventually cave into their demands while doing nothing about the lack of new content and rampant cheaters that are treated more like a narco ring at this point that even advertised on their site for a few years. Activision was the only one holding their feet to the fire and made forsaken.

Except this is a completely different game and they rightly get BTFO’d because diablos always been PVE first that actually takes itself seriously and had a strong fanbase over it. None of the “iTs A GaMe gO tOUCh GrAsS“ bullshet thats typical of f2p games.

Much like the “I quit” posts on the WoW forum, most of these people haven’t refunded and just want the attention. Some of them never even bought it and only post when the forum is open to everyone during these weekends.

Welcome to the age of fortnite gaming, skill doesn’t matter here, the quality of your skins does, and players using event only skins get shamed for being defaults.

Thank the devs for the block/ignore options!

Its absolutely ridiculous.

lol Ashara hard? Beat her first time, disconnected mid battle. Exited the game, rejoined and still killed her. I do like fights like this though. Not too many players to be ridiculous.

The backend of the connections needs work because I think it booted me because it detected me at a 13th person despite being there an hour and a half prior.

It doesn’t have to be hard to be fun though. Proper balance is important as Diablo 2 is not hard either. It’s got some things in it that are horrendously balanced because 1.10 broke it that still aren’t fixed. Like before 1.10 undead doll explosions did 1/4th of your life on an elite. Now an elite explosion does so much damage it will often kill you 4 times over.

That is not the kind of difficulty I want to deal with. It’s stupid difficulty. I want a fair challenge that can’t result in a 100% loss scenario. The game already has too much unavoidable chip damage. You will need to spend months grinding to beat certain bosses because of this unavoidable chip damage.

Diablo 2 for instance has no unavoidable chip damage in the game at all except for Diablo himself. You can dodge just about anything except for enemies that were made too fast in the 1.10 changes. The damage his chip does do is balanced out by having infinite pots anyway. Diablo 4 does not have infinite pots. With how cheap and unfair some mechanics often are it probably doesn’t give you enough.

One boss that wasn’t that hard last beta, has an undodgable move that takes 80% of your hp now that can RNG to be back to back. So they can RNG to be unwinnable too.

The PvP hit squads. They exist vs hardcore too. You really think it’s fun to lose a week of your life to a bunch of jerks pking you? I’ll sure be one of them. Back in Diablo 1 I was one of the most active pks on the server who didn’t hack anyway. I likely killed half the people I killed ashara with in diablo 1. It will get a lot of people to quit if that is their aim though.

The thing is they will abandon this game if people don’t purchase micro transactions. The people who are likely to do so are probably some of the people who will quit to hit squads.

Hardcore likely to not be effected at all. They often play through the game first to even check if hardcore is remotely possible before they do a hardcore run. They might not hardcore this game. I don’t see hardcore as a viable or fun way to play this game so far. With undodgable chip damage and entire pk zones you will likely have to run through.

It’s more important that viable criticism is not ignored in the favor of e-peen. E-peen has 0 value and is not a good metric to make a fun game.

That said they better not release the game with the first beta legendary setting on either. I got 4 legendaries in a row in the same dungeon. At the same time I got other games to play too. So if they require all my time I’m out.

This can very easily be the worst game in the franchise if they do it wrong. It’s already starting to play extremely bad. The leveling in the first beta was more in line with the speed of Diablo 2. The experience in the server slam was pretty terrible overall unless you were a rogue. Sorcerors weren’t even that fun because they over nerfed a few of their abilities and the ones they left us with are the boring as hell abilities we don’t want to use.

There is plenty of criticism to be had with this beta. Honestly I almost refunded after I beat ashara because the game was going to be too easy once I hit max level if that is the experience. Difficulty is second though I don’t want them to repeat the same mistake with Diablo 3 either and make all of the abilities just boring magic missile clones with different skins. If I can’t use the build I want to use in end game then I don’t want to play the game period. My builds are min/maxed to hell and back, but if the actual actives aren’t fun then waste of time.

It’s only going to get worse when those same people realize there are cosmetic rewards tied into hard content and pvp

same feeling here

The sad part is some people don’t admit their mistakes and inability to complete challenges and prefer to accuse Blizzard of misbalancing their game or some other mysterious reasons.

I really don’t know why people buy games these days. Are they just chasing after the hottest trend? Want to “rent” a game just not buy it since they know it’l be a waste of money. Buy game now but can’t pay bills later. Can’t find any friends with similar interest so instead follow along random people in hopes of making connections?

It’s Karen behavior. It’s like yelling at the cashier that your coupons expired and saying you’re going to their competitor because you didn’t get your way. Nobody cares, just leave already.
