Maybe it’s because of my age but the idea of starting over season after season just isn’t my jam. it wasn’t even really my jam in Diablo 2 which is my favorite of the series.
Are there any plans that i possibly may be unaware of to give more meaning to eternal realm in the upcoming expansion? typically this is where pvp would take over but the state of pvp is a pathetic shell of a feature. it may have 11 people actively participating globally at any given time.
id love to learn about literally anything that will help spice up eternal realm…or really give a point to it existing.
The problem with the eternal realm is just simply that most of the arpg population plays multiple arpgs at the same time and cycles between there seasons or just wanna mess around on the season and then go play something else entirely til the next season cause they want to play more then just arpgs
i currently have a level 100 of each class. is deleting them really the endgame for eternal?
this might be the part where you roll your eyes but im just comparing this to d2 where non ladder is always popping and the same chars ive been working on since launch still have plenty of reason to play.
i actually do like d4 as a game in case im giving off the wrong vibe. i just wish it had literally anything to offer for eternal. then it would be MY diablo for sure
There’s no such thing as Eternal in D4. You have to re-farm ubers and uniques literally every season. And the upcoming S6 won’t be an exception. You are already playing seasons on the so-called “eternal”, you just don’t realize it.
S5 being a shorter season, I’m playing mostly in Eternal with my level 100s, trying the top-tier builds of the season like Andy Rogue, LS Sorc and Landslide Druid. Have enough Mythics, gold, mats, etc. in Eternal to respec as much as I need to. Granted, I’ve had to acquire all “upgraded” uniques and such, but that’s part of the fun.
So usually at the beginning of a season and near the end of a season Eternal Realm gets busier. Obviously not as busy as the actual Seasonal Realm, but typically at the beginning of a new season you’ll have some people testing out the new features on the Eternal Realm first. They may run some bosses, Pits, try out a new build, etc. At the end of the season some people like to go back to clear up space, or possibly try a build they couldn’t on Seasonal, whatever the reason.
Unfortunately there’s only so much you can do on Eternal before you run out of things to do with a completely decked out character. So give or take a week (probably less if you can play more often) those same people will either stop playing the game or move over to the Seasonal Realm. This is the reality of Eternal Realm.
Now when they added the Pits and Infernal Hordes I’m sure people on Eternal were ecstatic for all of a week or two, but once they figured out how far they could get in those respective pieces of endgame content, and upgraded all their gear, they probably lost interest. I could be wrong of course, but what’s left to do with a fully decked out character that has gone as far as they can go?
Same here.
There are some minor tasks to master on eternal every time a new season comes out. Like getting 3 new uniques with 4ga and full effect. Nothing, a full time trader could not do.
Actually i play the perfected andariel barrage build, for which i collected the items before S5. Only had to find some good rolled Fists of Fate and craft 2 mythics.
Next plan is to play a perfected heartseeker build, when the addon comes.
I dont want to level a rogue again. I dont want to level all glyphs again.
I farmed 90k neathiron in pit in S4 and another 50k in hordes yet in S5.
So yes, i am semi-casual.
Testing and feeling what a build can (or could) do is my fun.
And to make it happen.
I only play season, when the seasonal content matters and makes a big difference, like S2 did. So im not against seasons generally.
The only thing I find more out of place than a season without a real theme is players telling other players what to like and what to do.
If you like eternal, then play eternal.
I’m about with him now, I’m tired of seasons meta, I don’t want to do the same thing over every few months, the seasonal genre in a whole I think is on its way out and good riddance, give us real content over replaying the same thing forever
I’m on Eternal. Been on Eternal since release. Only jump onto Season Server for the season journey. Now that the Journey only last for 30 hours, I can spend more time on Eternal.
Do you know what the point of a graveyard is ? To allow people to comfortably rest in peace. Without being bothered by some drastically overpowered crazies in helltides or whispers.
Graveyard only if blizzard keep making eternal players restart from scratch every season with huge changes
Otherwise it’s entirely possible to enjoy Eternal
Eternal realm would have been playable if not for the game revamping done the last 2 seasons. With season 6 reworking of the game, season 7 will likely be the start of the new Eternal realm as all of the old game mechanics no longer work for past Eternal realm chars. So essentially your Eternal Realm chars are just mannequins to show off your cosmetics.
