Is dual spec a bad idea? and why?

dual spec would just allow you to have a completely different skill tree and paragon board. i know that the game is designed to be more rigid in regards to making/swapping to new builds and i understand why. But i cant help but feel like most players would benefit from being able to have a second build since most classes seem to be largely designed around having two distinct playstyles. just want to hear some peoples thoughts

Totally agree: dual spec needs to be added. There’s a build for each class that seems to be really powerful, but I want to try other builds too, and I don’t want to have to redo my entire normal spec just to try a new one. At level 70, that’s a huge amount of clicking, etc. I also would like the option to have a maximized spec to use when I need it (top T4 nightmare dungeons, etc.) but then be able to use the playstyle I enjoy more when it isn’t as critical. And then there’s the PvP vs. PvE aspect. It’s a definite QoL addition.

There are already a ton of other limitations that restrict swapping too much. Your gear stats won’t all carry over, your glyph xp is already spent, your aspects won’t all carry over, etc. There’s no need to make the limiting factor the super-complex skill/paragon aspect.

This is effectively what the Wardrobe was like in D3. The only thing I would like it a dedicated storage space for the different specs/builds. Otherwise, things end up taking up a lot of space. In D4 the Wardrobe is nothing more than a paper doll game with cosmetics and does nothing to save build info. I’d love to have this feature back along with legendary gems, companions, actual gear with fixed stats, craftable gear, and the Cube…

To answer your question directly… YES! If it is done as it was in Diablo 3, but give us the ability to tag ger that’s part of a build so it doesn’t get destroyed.

It should have been a default option, at least for paragon boards.

I am getting feelings, that some of these QoL should have been already in game, instead they have been cut in order to have new ¨content¨ for upcoming seasons …

They need to add skill tree loadouts like wow has for talents, no need to limit it to dual spec only, the more specs you can have, the better.

I’m sure they will add this to the shop at some point.

Dual?
No, it’s needed lot more slots for builds than 2.

Dual (or more) spec would be quite bad. Hurting the basic concept of creating a build, by allowing your character to just be Everything.

This is exactly what we need. Be able to have specs for different types of content.

Rather the exact thing Blizzard should prevent from ever happening. The character is what it is, it should not be allowed to flip flop it’s capabilities between activities.

No point in having builds, classes or any pretension of being an A-RPG if that is not prevented.

nope thats considerd pay to win
