Is Diablo4 fun on cooldown?

Hi. I just realized that I’m a casual player these days. Woo!

My way of fun is maybe not yours. But…wth is up with the cooldowns?

I love the lore and the feel of D4 and back to god knows when…
I’m not here to bash on your game, because I like it. I really like D4 (bring back runes).

What about the cooldowns?

This might sound as a surprise but when you press a button you can’t press it again for a certain amount of time.

DEVS feel that the game should not be a spam fest of your best skill

I gave up on D4 till they fix this. Will be playing D3 when thats out or going back to wow.

Their “philosophy”.
WARNING Reading this or trying to figure out the …‘Logic’ in this statement can be harmful to your health.
S Tier nonsense:

Developer’s Note: Cooldown Reduction affixes often felt mandatory due to their raw power. We imagine Cooldown Reduction will remain a highly desirable stat, but the penalty for not prioritizing it won’t be as harsh.

I’m able to press all my buttons as quickly as I’d like

It’s because cooldowns are intended to limit the uses of abilities, so is resource generation. Usually an action-rpg picks one or the other, combining both slows the combat down to a crawl and forms a more MMO play-style unless you are screen clearing with your build.

The BEST skill then should be the ultimate category with super long cds.
But they hardly do anything. Most builds avoid them altogether.

It wouldn’t have felt this bad if they didn’t make generators hit like a wet tissue.

Generators should be capable of one-shotting the weakest at-level mobs in World Tier 1, and take off around 35% of weak non-elite at-level mobs in World Tier 4.

The design philosophy shows through the details everywhere. Diablo IV design isn’t about letting players do what they want, but making players do what the devs want, you do what we want, or you get nothing done.

This is why the bottom row of the renown rewards exist: you want those build-defining points? Do what we say.

This is why glyphs are only leveled up in nightmare dungeons: you want to level up glyphs? Do what we say.

This is why forgotten souls are only available in Helltides: you want to enchant your gear? Do what we say.

The design is not a theme park where you choose what activity you want. It is a strictly laid out school curriculum, where you progress in the order they dictate, at the speed they dictate, in ways that they dictate.

By your logic people would do only cellars since its fast and efficient and they drop all crafting items and provide glyph exp.

If that’s what people want, why not? What’s the problem with that?

It’s getting tiresome to type…
We’re not playing a game, we’re being played.
This is a passionless design-by-data driven, psychological foundation based, soulless social experiment franchise riding cash cow.

Diablo 4 is an MMO, not an aRPG. That’s why every skill and every action and every moment has a cooldown.

Bye then! You obviously hate this game so see ya. Have fun in your next game.

Yeah I mean… the marketing budget for D4 was very obviously 4x maybe even 5x the budget of the dev team.

Generators capable of one shotting? How easy do you want this game to be? It’s already too easy.

One-shotting the weakest at-level mobs in World Tier 1, as a baseline.
