Hello all as the title says whats the state of diablo 4 now? I quitted after completing the campaign in s1 and doing some events back then overall the game was boring for me, lack of content, itemization, stashes and etc. I really want to give diablo 4 another try but if its the same boring grinding there is no need to waste 60-100gb if I remember correctly.
No need for you to come back. If you hate the game before, you would still hate the game right now. All becoz D4 is not for you.

The companion and the new “Traps” dungeons are bad.
Necro minions nerfed not buffed or fixed.

Yeah still in a bad state. Only changes since s1 is some bug fixes, some minor quality fixes and some balancing up and down. Still no real endgame content, itmization just as bad. It is however much easier now to lvl up though. I think i spent 3-4 days this season playing some hours each day before lvl 100.

Come back after season 4 has started. It is more or less the same game with a few QOL changes. Not enough to get excited about.

No need to get salty I never said I hate the game there are things I actually like about the game I just didn’t mention them because I didn’t want to create a big topic as for that if the game is not for me I think you should leave that for me to decide since you didn’t pay for the game but don’t worry your behavior answers much better than your words about the state of diablo 4 thank you and have a nice day.

How have you leveled up so fast ?
Me and my wife been playing a good 3+ hours a day, some days mych more for close to two months and were just hitting level 80ish. We do all the boss, tree, legion, HT and other events as well as finishing campaign and random dungeons.
We’ve done a few appropriate level NMDs, but not a lot. I’m guessing that may be the asnwer heh, more NMDs. Just curious how others power level, as I really wanted to level a couple alts but leveling seems like such a slog to me.
2 months? the season is very much younger than that. Are you talking about eternal realm? I never set my foot in there, so i wouldnt know. In s3 levelling is very fast imo.
Yeah we started during last end of season of blood and are playing on eternal realm.
Im about 100 hours into the season. Just a normal player.
The traps are just annoying. The vaults are all the same. The pet you dont even realise it’s there. So overall the season itself if pretty lame.
The loot still sucks badly due to itemization. Your just hauling full bags of junk out of the dungeons. Every now and then you might raise an eyebrow at a piece of loot but its no way near as good as D2 loot. Deal 19%more damage while standing on one leg holding a beer.
Classes are just the same but your resources do seem better so thats a big plus imo.
Scaling overall seems better damage wise as you level.
Not much changes with your character from level 20-100.
Game is boring till T4 and most people will be bored by then and quit.
The game needs massive overhaul or its dead in the water.
There’s no depth to your class skill trees its mobile phone level design.
The actual gameplay and animations are smooth tho and can be fun.

Assuming they actually finish the loot fix next season wait till then.
Bare in mind though they cant get a gauntlet out in time.
So I’m expecting things like
“Damage on Tuesdays & Thursdays between 6pm-6:30pm”
I’m just sat here hoping it’s the even season team working on it…
How about you play and find out the game is fun for lots of people for lots of reasons. Or are you just a forum sheep that does what others say

Still same, w8 for s4… they promised itemezation fix… Have no hope, but we will see.
I’d say the game is better, when compared to the competition I cannot say it’s an amazing game. It’s a good middle of the road casual game (5/10, 8/10 campaign), unfortunately as graphically impressive as it is almost every system lacks polish with many of the recent changes being rush jobs. Itemization, seasons and target farming are still lacking but build diversity has seen major improvement so early leveling is now even more fun. For what it’s worth, it’s a fun game for a couple of days every season.
Itemization is still boring compared to even D3, especially with the lack of exciting drops for the majority of the game. The item power system has been the bane of the Diablo franchise, it actively prevents the existence of exciting drops especially early and mid-game. Anything you get will be useless in the end, you will never get that memorable moment where a Gull dagger dropped or you got an early Jalal/Shako/Oculus/etc. Any weapon that drops until very late in the game is useless unless it’s max item power. Ultimately it’s a system great for controlling players and poor at creating fun.
Build and skills have seen many improvements, most classes now have 2 viable builds up from one with some exceptions like Barbarian, that class has been a mess since launch. Overall I am having much more fun due to the steady improvements every patch. Credit has to be given to Adam Jackson and his team, they acknowledged their early mistakes (balancing like a moba/hots) and have been very daring which is exciting to me personally (barbarian experiments excluded). I hope season 4 levels the playing field though, having a handful of builds which one-shot anything is boring.
Seasons have been hit or miss, I’d rather not comment much here. I personally enjoy Vaults, the idea is solid but the execution is poor and has certainly not been tested properly. If you expect anything close to what competitors provide, you will be disappointed. There is an overall sentiment that some seasons are done by the B-team (Joseph Piepiora brings the good stuff) and for good reason.
Target farming now exists ala Diablo 2 in the form of end-game bosses, which is great. Yet most of these are time gated behind content like Helltides or Whispers(bounties) because they haven’t fired that MMO guy yet.
