No, D3 is pretty fun for what it is. D4 is a prettier, premium priced Diablo Immoral.

D4 is stripped down, bare-bones, and kind of boring after lvl 40ish…and, it plays like a single-player experience. After 40+ hours I’ve not had a conversation with a single person outside of clan chat (which is basically silent 24/7 as well). Not including regional/global chat channels was an extremely weak move.

NM dungeons are grifts, just with a lot of running and fetching things, instead of slaying hordes of enemies. Grifts are also more challenging. A full set doesn’t actually get you that far. Think of them as starter gear for your build; the bare minimum. Grifts are much harder than NM dungeons.
As long as the gameplay is enjoyable and upgrades come regularly, the mechanism behind how it’s delivered doesn’t matter much. It’s an arpg. We want to slaughter hordes of enemies, find fun and powerful gear, and keep pushing.

D3 with D4 graphics and D4 open world would be a far superior product.

Oh yeah, after you crossed out most affixes. You crossed out Suppressors, Cold Enchanted, Poison Enchanted, Shock Lance, all empowered elites, Nightmare portal, Drifting Shade, Death Pulse, etc. What’s left? A lousy joke dungeon. Yeah, GRifts are harder.

You’ve never pushed beyond 150. Getting all gear rolled as ancient, getting the right affixes, higher legendary effect strength, augmentation, break points, the list goes on. Yeah, you haven’t done any high level D3 content or you’d know better.

I got to GR140+. Maybe missing an Ancient Boots on my Necro, missing an Ancient on shoulders on my WD… i got the best augmentation until i got tired. Becoz i remember i asked myself then… what’s the point? I just took a break from WoW. Beat some D3 seasons then go back to WoW.
I dont need to go back to D3 now. I felt i have beaten that game already… also beaten D2R hell Bhaal in a month.
D4 is now the new beast i need to beat. And i am on it. I will give in to D4 season1 then i go back to my WoW:Dragonflight.
Btw, im having a blast on playing a Summoner. Season 0 was tough but i thrived. It made me a better tougher player. So far, im melting everything in Season 1.
To whiny players, just adapt. This is not D3. This is D4. GG

The social elements lacking I think everyone agrees with. It reminds of when SC2 launched and how barren battle.net felt compared to old school bnet ala wc3 or even brood war
D4 has a reverse of d3’s launch problems.

D3 launch problem, i cant find any gear for my character. I only ever find stuff for others classes.
D4 launch problem, i cant find any gear for my alts, and the stuff i do manage to find require such a high level.
The itemization for both games are terrible. Weapons have 400 ways to roll damage in d4, but 397 of them are pointless.

the thing is if season 29 of D3 came out next week, I would dump this in a second and go play if the theme was even half-way decent. I really enjoy D4’s core experience, single player, gameplay. Buuuuuuuut, I need competition too. Eventually not having leaderboards and stuff is going to make me lose interest. Same thing happened with Last Epoch. LE and D4 both love, but need more endgame activities.
