d3 is just a game , well done and improved over time , d4 is a current live service game , a game that is progressing and always ready for new content , the problem is that d4 is far below the live service standard and beyond that very badly done and full of problems besides not fulfilling its promises very well, this is what happens when people who were not poser and play their games leave the company and the company is only left with devs who take advantage of the company’s name and the franchises and they don’t know how to do anything right besides not playing the games deeply, posers simplifying…

D4 is D3 cosplaying as D2.
All the endgame stuff is the same with different names, whispers = bounties and nightmare dungeons = rifts, leveling glyphs is leveling legendary gems.
The skill tree pretty much works the same just added passives and ranks but it’s still pick 6 things and a modifier for each, then slot a couple “enchantments.”
The only new stuff is the paragon boards, world boss, and helltides, and the latter two don’t add much; and they took away smart loot and set items.

no, its worse. Its got an amazing graphical engine and world, but everything feels, well, just worst. There is zero thrill to the item hunt!! Zero thrill as you level up (which takes forever! (here’s looking at you renown!(
D3 2.0 changed D3 into a much better game! I love D4’s open world, but the game is missing sooo much functionality!!!
I get a kick reading all this because D3 was trashed by the community when it was released. How soon people forget.
I think D3 does somethings better than D4 but D4 on a whole is better than D3.

D3 was ok at launch. It got old really fast. Then 15 seasons later suddenly started living up to its potential. There was a multi-year span where it was horrendous. Great now thou if you havent tried the past couple years.
Yes like, the graphics are very well done and definitely give the impression of an ugly, desperate world, but it’s all just so boring.
Glad I’m not the only one who remembers this. This reminds of the WOW players who tried trashing SL by saying BFA was better. Forgetting of course that BFA was criticized during the entire time that it was a live expansion. It’s either amnesia, or they can’t form an argument without making comparisons.D4 is leagues better than D3 was at launch.

Not really - there are elements that are similar but they are certainly not the same game.
You clearly don’t remember D3 at launch. Servers not working, errors, p2w auction house, story mode only, no endgame, pretty much nothing worth playing.

I would say no. I mean, for starters, the characters are all ugly.
There was a ton in D3 as in D4. I easily had 7 differen crusader builds I rotated through seasons.
Oh you mean end game viable builds. Yeah about as much as D2, 2 per class.
D3 is better still. Gameplay is smoother too. At least the sets make you feel strong while your pushing for better gear. This game you are punished for levelling. You have to rely on getting good yellows to upgrade lol

Literally one of like 5 people who played D3 for one week at a time at the launch of a new season, lol, while the rest of the world (the sane portion of the gaming populace) never went back to D3 at all.
You can beat the entire game in D2 with any class and no gear at all.
Literally any build you can imagine is viable in D2, lol.

it’s a fun fact, but at the release of D4, even on the forum there were much fewer d3 fanboys than now. Apparently all adequate players have already left both the game and forum, leaving these D3 minority to rot in their little world.

Most D2 fans (i.e. real ARPG players) quit and left, so the threads made by D3 fanboys (mostly D4 white knights) can actually be seen and get traction now, lol.
Tell me how many builds were capable on its first 2 seasons? It was a disaster. That game was RMAH game. Only after RMAH got abolished, D3 became decent.

I’ve put tons of time into every Diablo game except Immortal; and played D3 from launch regularly to about 3 years after RoS and still occasionally since then; played season only enough to get stash tabs. Take from that what you will, but your assumptions are wrong.
And I honestly don’t know how you can deny what I said about D4 being like D3 unless you literally haven’t played both games a significant amount of time.

well as far as i remember D3 seasons started with RMAH abortion. Maybe i’m wrong it was too long ago.
But anyway as an ARPG player you should never forget your duty:
ALWAYS remind D3 fanboys that D3 was trash evolved into garbage and clown fiesta. It was abomination of the genre and series and should never consider as ARPG.
