Is Blizzard ever going to fix the rubberbanding?

I purchased Diablo 4 on PSN digitally for my PS5 shortly after launch. From the beginning I have been experiencing an issue that can make the game unplayable at times. My sorcerer will stop in her tracks and not move for 2-5 seconds. Button presses elicit no response. This happens anywhere in the game villages, caves, open world map, etc. If I am around enemies when it happens, I will die. It has happened more times than I can count and it happens at least once every time I play. It has made the game almost impossible to play alone which unfortunately is how I usually play. I have moved the game data from my 2TB SSD to the console hard drive. I have turned off cross play. I have tried multiple controllers. I started the PS5 in safe mode and cleared my cache and rebuilt my database. None of those worked. What is the fix? If I uninstall and reinstall the game, will I lose my save data?

Only thing that worked for me was turning off all cross play. Then it really is up to the quality of the internet connection to take it from there.

I have cross play off. Internet shouldn’t be the problem. My son plays on PC with no issues and the guy I usually play with online has a slower connection than me with no issues. Thanks though.

Yet another HC character is dead because of this.

If it doesnt involve fixing the numbers upwards on bobbys Paycheck, then its very unlikely.

I had all the same problems as everyone else. Ping spikes up to 1200+, then back down to 45. Some days seemed worse than others and just unplayable. No other game does this, they all run great no issues. Ran traceroutes, the whole 9 yards and was extremely frustrated. Then I ran a WinMTR and a problem popped up. Could it be my wifi between my computer and the router?? Naw, everything else is fine.

Connected an ethernet cable to my router and bam, all issues solved.

For over 2 weeks now, zero issues. Zero. No lag, rubberbanding…nadda. And all along I thought it was “blizzard servers”, internet connection, all the usual suspects people mention. It wasn’t any of that. It was the literal last thing I would think of.

See if you can set Google DNS in your console IP4 settings. 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4 for the DNS server options.

I used 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 yesterday and played for an hour and didn’t rubberband once. Given it was a Monday early afternoon so it could be that. I also opened ports in my router. I used the TCP and UDP ports from the Port Forward website, but they won’t let me leave a link.
I don’t know which helped but my guess is the DNS settings.
I will post an update after the weekend.

I don’t think I had suggested those.

I got those from the Exputer site. It started doing it again last night. I switched the DNS setting to the ones you proposed and it still did it.

So I heard back from Blizzard and all I got was a link with vague suggestions for network configuration. They didn’t even help with specific ports or DNS settings. They also suggested I reach out to Sony which is funny because this is the only game I have that gives me these kinds of issues. Everything else on my PS5 runs very well. I think I’m done giving Blizzard my money. Too many game options out there to put up with this. Moderators feel free to delete my post at this point I don’t care anymore.
