there’s a potential scaling balance issue with aspect of control, which states the following:
deal #%[x] more damage to immobilized, stunned, or frozen enemies.
this affix currently applies to each status effect as it’s own multiplier despite each of these effects being considered under the “crowd control” category.
this aspect stands out as extremely beneficial compared to similar aspects in the damage category for this reason. for example, sorcerer builds that take advantage of this effect’s scaling are dramatically stronger compared to ones that do not, which means that if you want to push super high nightmare tiers, you are virtually required to take flame shield with Aspect of Binding Embers + something that reliably stuns (probably raiment of the infinite) + something that freezes (and ideally applies vulnerability, eg frost nova). this means that viable endgame build variety is gutted for the sorcerer. i don’t expect every build to be endgame viable, but the difference is staggering.
when testing, the effect on just a frozen enemy was ~50k crit dmg, then when they were frozen and stunned, it was ~100k crit, and finally when immobilized, frozen, and stunned it was ~200k crit (devouring blaze maxed on tree for additional damage multiplication.)
hopefully this topic is in the right category. i didn’t make it to complain, i’m just under the impression that this power difference was not intended. interested to hear if otherwise and why.
