Is + All Stats good to have on any equipment slots after hitting level 100?
A month or so ago when I was playing my necromancer, I read on several places that + All Stats was a bad stat to have on any of your gear especially after you hit level 100.
But past couple of days I have been seeing more and more high level sorcerers with several pieces of equipment (even weapons) with this stat. Since I don’t have any piece of equipment with this stat I’m wondering whether I’m doing something wrong?
I think it’s situational. Look at the rare nodes in your Paragon tree. If a lot of them say you’re slightly short of multiple stats, it can be useful to save one or two affix slots and use them for better defense or damage by relying on a single +All Stats affix.
Really depends on paragon board and how the stats and order are lined up. But yes, at some point you will need 1 or 2x of it somewhere, and max intelligence stats somewhere else in order for the stats to add up enough to get the thresholds on board 6 bonuses.
At the very end-end game you will need these affixes. If you are just casually running content and the bonuses don’t matter as much, other affixes like damage to crowd controlled will do better for the build. But bleeding edge max damage will need maximum intelligence possible which also means using some +All stats paired with +intelligence.
Just look at the intelligence threshold for paragon board 6 (any board) to get an idea of how much in stats you need to understand why the end-end game builds are going in this direction.
Like stated above, Bunny. If you have a rare node, which is worth having, All stats can cover the node. But, there is a big but here. You are usually losing something in return. Calculating if it’s worth it doesn’t take much time.
If its something like rare node on additive damage.
Example: Let’s say you want to roll all stats on weapon to take 10-20% additive damage.
Thats a no-no. As weapons usually can roll additive damage themselves, like Close/Distant/Condional at higher values.
So at the end of the day, just calculate what you gain/lose. Sometimes it’s worth it. Most of the time not.
Seconded this. If you’re needing to get additional stats to fill secondary rare node requirements, try rearranging the paragon “path”; if you haven’t messed around with this yet, its very likely you’ll find what you need here.
Its also useful to note that the paragon board number (ie; the order in which you selected and placed your paragon boards) will affect the amount of stat needed to fill rare node requirements. The nodes in your last board need alot more than the nodes in your first.
It is only good if you need it to unlock the rare node on your paragon board, I had no choice but to use it because my paragon board need those stats to get the maximum benefit from the rare node.
Not always. I had a staff that rolled +190 Int and +57 all stats and it was pretty useful because it solved a lot of stat shortages in the Paragon nodes. But, as I said before, highly situational and no rules can be established about when or how much you need - get to level 90 at least before deciding.
I wasnt able to do this, so i had an alternative approach. Ice fall board as #5, which put the rare node cryomancy at 720 intelligence to meet secondary requirements. 1 max intelligence roll on wand, no other affixes are giving raw stats, allows 720+ intelligence with the one affix, and meet the node requirements this way.
Board 6 is searing heat, just used for the glyph, and though the 10% additional fire dmg from combustion rode would see some use, its not terribly missed and is mainly grabbed for the crit dmg, so no effort was made to meet those requirements.
All nodes grabbed for boards 1-4 have rare nodes meeting full requirements, but some nodes on board 4 required some paragon pathing adjustment. For reference, im eternal server, lvl 100, 1 intelligence roll on wand.
Thank you all for your replies, it was an interesting read.
I have 1 question though. How does this + All Stat on equipment work then?
Let’s say you have + 27 All Stat on leg piece, and you have 6 Paragon boards.
Do you get + 27 points on all 6 paragon boards within their raduis? Or do you get + 27 points outside their radius as well?
All stats is all 4 stats. Str, intel, dex, will. It just increases the total amount that you have, by 26 on gear or like 44 or something on wand/dagger.
Maybe read the paragon board a little differently. Under the rare nodes, look at the bonus line to see what you get for the bonus and what your stats need to be in order to unlock that bonus.
As Kutta has already said, your stats are your stats, so you get them on all the boards.
They affect your character stats, not directly affecting paragon boards.
Rare nodes on Paragon boards have stat requirements for bonus effects. For example, +5% damage, but +5% more if you intelligence is > 100. As you go deeper and deeper on the boards (meaning to higher number boards), these stat requirements go up. On board 5 or six, you may need 250 or 300 of Dex or Willpower to get the bonus.
When you’re optimizing your equipment, you need to see how many of these bonuses on rare nodes you can unlock. That’s where + all stats helps - if you need more Dex and Str on board 6, you can get both with +all stats, instead of two different affix slots .
