Invoker of Varshan

Yeah, same happened to me. Did not realize I had to pop back to wt2 and take Echo Varshan out to get the Foul recipe

But what if you clicked on Skip Campaign like SO many did. How do you get the first step done. Are we just hooped? Cause I have found the door and it says progression through the campaign is required. Its ridiculous they expect us to do the campaign each season, we have done it.

What?

No, okay. The seasonal quest chain doesn’t start until after you complete the campaign (whether you go through it or skip it, it doesn’t matter). Complete the seasonal quest chain and the final boss of that is Varshan, he will always drop the recipe for the Invoker of Varshan. Always.

The door you’re referring to is how you summon the Echo of Varshan, which is who you need to kill on WT1 or 2 to get the Foul Invoker of Varshan recipe.

If you choose to skip the seasonal quest chain (and I seriously have to wonder why you would, it’s not hard or even that long). Then yes, on that character you will not be able to summon Varshan at all.

So I decided to try today, went back to T2 and I realized there are no invoking chamber regarding Varshan… Just the one at the end where you can invoke one of 2 malignant hearts. I did two malignant borrows in different regions.

Burrows have the invoking chamber in T3 but can’t do anything obviously.

Only some of the tunnels have the door for the invoking chamber. The best one for farming that also has said door is the Bedeviled Grotto found just west of Backwater in Hawezar.

You didn’t even read the OP did you…

You literally get the recipe from Varshan…

I didn’t get that recipe and I am stuck without it

I completed mission killed echo and it gave me tormented vashan recipe but I never got original recipe to craft regular vashan so am I screwed out of vashan t3 and t4

I’ve gotten the room every time Ive been to this tunnel, on wt2, 3, and 4.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

There is a bug that prevents some people from getting the original recipe.

I have both the foul and tormented recipes thanks to getting extra base invokers going into friends quest dungeons after I had completed it. I can not get the original in WT1, WT2 or in any other way having tried numerous attempted fixes people have talked about in the bug report forum.

I can’t get the recipe other than by perhaps making a new character and doing the entire quest chain over again, which I have zero interest in doing. I’ll be done with the season journey and this season before they fix it. It is a bug. Just because you didn’t encounter it doesn’t mean it’s not affecting other people.

One of many bug report threads on the topic:

The only thing stupid here is this comment. It is a BUG even if a white item drops one time that you happened to not notice and didn’t pick up and can’t get in any other way. I personally doubt that’s the case and it seems to happen to people who did it on higher difficulties, but even if that were true, it’s still bad design and a bug.

It’s not intended. They didn’t intend for you to not get this recipe. It prevents you from crafting the item. It is a bug.

I have literally killed Varshan on multiple characters. My seasonal Necromancer, Barbarian and Rogue. Every single time I have killed him at the end of the seasonal quest chain the recipe for the Invoker of Varshan has dropped.

Every. Single. Time.

So either you got really really unlucky and somehow the recipe did not drop for you when it has dropped 100% of the time for almost everyone else. Or you clowned around, didn’t pick up the recipe, left the dungeon and since you can’t return to the dungeon where you kill Varshan, you’re SoL.

I’m more inclined to believe it’s the latter, because I’ve seen more than a few people blame Blizzard for their own stupidity and claim ‘bug’ just to avoid having to admit that they derped and screwed themselves out of a certain activity because they didn’t pick something up that they needed.

It’s not that hard to comprehend that even if it does drop and someone missed it

IT IS STILL A BUG AND NOT INTENDED TO WORK THIS WAY

THEY WANT YOU TO BE ABLE TO CRAFT IT AFTER YOU FINISH THE QUEST

The people who don’t have it STILL CAN’T GET IT.

Your points were nonsense. Blaming players for a bug, that is by definition a bug as it’s not intended behavior, is absurd and nobody cares how many times you’ve done it.

However, you’re still probably entirely wrong regardless. See this person’s post in the bug report forum for example:

It’s likely more related to the difficulty you completed the quest on if anything.

Further, if it did actually drop and they missed it, it would more than likely have automatically ended up in the stash as some people in the bug report forum reported getting their recipe from the auto-loot system for missed drops. This strongly suggests that it simply never dropped at all for those of us who can’t get it.

The one I’ve made says its a plain old “Invoker”. I went back from T3 to T2. I’ve attempted to use it twice & the game says its locked. Is there a specific place I need to use this? Not that I really need the heart atm but just kinda wanted to do it and see.

That’s because the recipe isn’t in the bag.

It drops directly from the boss, as loot, on the ground.

Jesus christ some stupid people in the world… sigh

It’s really not that hard for you to accept that there is a bug, I don’t know why you desperately want to feel superior to others by actually convincing yourself they did something wrong and the game works perfectly, but in any event:

Because there isn’t a bug.

There are stupid people not picking up the recipe and screwing themselves out of being able to kill Varshan. That’s not the fault of the game. Again, I have literally killed Varshan and gotten the recipe on multiple seasonal characters. It’s a 100% drop rate. So whenever some clown runs in and says “It’s bugged I didn’t get it.” I know they’re lying through their teeth and trying to blame Blizzard because they didn’t pick up the recipe when it dropped.

Just got T4 Varshan in a group of 3 (64-70). It was a fairly long fight.
