"invited to server slam"

Why in the hell would I WANT to join your server slam after your sorcerer chain lightning nerf???

The ONLY skill and class I care about, and you slaughter it FOR NO REASON.

Everyone loved chain lightning in the beta, but because it was OP, but because it worked as was MOSTLY balanced. You took that away, and now the skill is going to suck entirely in favor of fire skills THAT I REFUSE TO USE.

Stop screwing the magic class over. You read forums and responses and see blue, and respond red. Revert the change, and rebalance the chain lightning slightly. In the previous betas, the only thing you really needed to was rebalance the chain lightning skill based on the first 10 levels in regards to attack speed and effectiveness based on monster type.

Now, even with the 2 handed attack speed staff, the chain lightning sorcerer is going to SUCKS ENTIRELY. Thanks for nothing, blizzard.

I wholeheartedly wanted to give your company a chance. I enjoyed the beta, and looked forward to wanting to play more. The game had promise. NOW, I am struggling with the idea of refunding before launch. Not that you will miss the 100 dollars, nor care.

You are going to have to prepare yourself because many things will be nerfed over the games life span. Buckle up.

I am fully aware. This was just a venting post that I doubt will even remotely be listened to. I have game for many years on many games.

Well if the only reason to play d4 is chain lightning.

First i think thats very strange, but your in your right to have any reasons whatsoever.

But to alleviate your fears, Chain Lightning will probably still be very good. Just not extremely Op anymore.

Try the other specs/classes out, just because you can’t lie facedown on your keyboard and left-click to the of of beta doesn’t mean that it’s not worth playing anymore.

If this is your approach to gaming and D4 you are actually helping by not participating. Good riddance.

For many reasons. Among them class diversity because we all know that many metagamers in 2023 will just play whatever streamers play and do whatever streamers do without critical thought. Streamers were pretty unanimous in Sorceress being S tier and the best overall class in the beta.

Think your just over exaggerating. It was already very strong and you have no idea how much they nerfed it. “Decreased the damage of Chain Lightning and reduced its effectiveness against Bosses” is vague. It could still be a top tier build.

Uh… you’re joking right, you gotta be messing with us :troll: ? They loved it because it was overpowered.

The reason was better balance.
After the D3 disaster it made me quite happy to see Blizzard dare to nerf something.

so, you are making a post about you not being there, like it were something anyone (and devs) would feel sad about, and should do something to avoid it? hmmm, you really sure about that?

It’s almost like they did it for balance

Maybe to test the new chain lightning to see if its as bad as you are getting all worked up about? If it is then maybe advocate for change?

No you aren’t. This server slam is not only an opportunity to test these changes but also an opportunity to show the devs it may have been a mistake.

Instead of being aware if the opportunity in front of you, you started a rant thread.

You don’t even know how much they nerfed it. It might be perfectly viable still. (And, for me, I don’t really care if its strong or weak - lightning is generally my go to so I’m gonna be going lightning, and since the respec costs are there it’s probably the only build I’ll really try)

It was for balance which is a reason.

True

Over Chain Lightning getting a nerf? If this was your only reason to enjoy the game, I don’t know why you played in the first place. This seems to be an overly dramatic and exaggerated take.

Its ok to have venting posts. Just expect that there will be people that criticize some aspects of it.

You don’t even know how much they decreased the damage or how they changed the single target functionality. Lol.

Maybe use the test weekend to, oh I dunno, test it?

Uhh…Balance is a pretty big reason.

And there’s your reason.

Or it will be balanced & no longer OP. :man_shrugging:

Considering they saw ‘overpowered skill’ and nerfed ‘overpowered skill’; They saw red and responded red.

Not being OP does not mean Sorc will suck now.

Why? Just because you can’t use a skill you even admit was OP?

Correct.

It was a good balance nerf, you can’t beat the beta with only 1 overpowered skill…
