Interesing Video about MMO's

So yes this is not an MMO. I completerly understand that.
But as I was listening to this in the background, and working on something else…
I could not help but think how this same exact topic is discussed here and so often…without the label of MMO.

Worth a watch for just a general gaming discussion.

I have time marked it from where the actual part that interested me started but feel free to watch from whereever. No I am not affiliated with this so you don’t need to do anything else for the video, but would like to see how many others think this applies here as well.

For me, this hits home for the true core of many of the issues here as well. Enjoy if you decide to watch it.

Well, lets be honest here, What we really have is Game over load. So many games feel and play the sameway that a lot people have a hard time staying interested. So fastracking the questing part of a game makes sence from a development perpesctive. I myself only run the campaign once, maybe twice. Ever since a thing called End Game happened, It seems to be the real goal, And that is because we have so many games on the market to choose from, A lot of us don’t want to spend huge amounts of time one just one.

If I am being honest I spend more time in Diablo than other games.
I may play other single player games for stretches…but Diablo I play more regularly.

So that view of “there are so many games, let’s just have them all be shallow” does not appeal to me personally. Because if Diablo was not following that formula, I would probably play it more.

I think more of what that video said that appealed to me is the bond you form with well thought out game process, vs rush through leveling to and endgame that is lacking or just repetitive.

I would rather enjoy the time I spend gaming over just spending time in multiple mediocre experiences.

Also I don’t mean just the campaign. I don’t expect people to play that multiple times. I won’t.
The leveling though happens in a rich world they created…but did nothing else with.
