What do you guys think, intended mechanic or bug? It seems odd to me that it consumes the corpse even though it is just casting tendrils, which doesn’t consume corpses…
I think it might be intended so that you can’t get more than one auto effect from corpses (e.g. both tendrils and explosion). It’s really annoying for me because I only run tendrils. I wish they solved it differently.
My theory is they did it so you can’t just chain stagger bosses. All you would need is for hewed flesh to spawn one coprse then the auto tendtrils + your manual cast would fill the stagger bar insanely fast.
I don’t really like it but I can see why they did it. That said I do wish it would at least count as consuming the corpse - but it won’t proc things like Fueled by Death cause it doesn’t count as consuming a corpse even though it deletes the coprse for whatever reason.

You can still do this?!? Just hard cast Tendril first, doesn’t consume the corpse. Get closer, consume the corpse with the auto cast.
It still doesn’t stun the boss, maybe moves 10-15% or so.
Yeah it’s still good, but think of it without the aspect you would be guaranteed to cast 2 tendrils roughly every 10 seconds. Now at least there’s a chance you might be struggling for corpses.
Idk it’s still a great ability for the necro.
I use the Skele Minions that generate corpses, it’s corpses alllllll day. But I also have Ring of Mendeln, so there’s that… if you Sacrifice minions, well, it comes with a sacrifice.
Two Necros I regularly party with love me because I pop out all the corpses, literally at the feet of a boss. Allllllll day corpses!
That does seem like a good strat! I’m going full sacrifice bone spear but I need to tweak it a little since I’m in WT4 now. Good idea with the copse gen on minions. I’ll play around with some tweaks tonight.
I think the minions are 10% (?), but it’s not Lucky Hit, just a straight 10%.
They make tons, but keep in mind I used the Minion Paragon Board to boost survival w/Deadriser Glyph. Not sure how minions would fare in higher NMD without that. They have a character sheet dmg reduction of 53% (but can go higher). The main reason I minion is literally Mendeln’s. It procs for 700k in a small AoE, and occurs frequently. Without that, not sure they are worth it?
I used this and thought it was cool for a while but then I really missed complete control so I swapped rings. You can also slot skulls if you want. you don’t have to use the hearts.
You can but some hearts give armor as well.
