Having an absolute disaster of a time trying to play the Server Smash. Really hoping someone can help me.
Having Pre-Downloaded the game on Thursday, I got on the first time I launched it and since then, it’s been impossible to play.
I was trying to play the Beta with my Wife (Long story Short, my best friend and I used to play D3 all the time together, it was one of our favourite games to play and unfortunately, we lost him in February this year; so she wants to play it with me) and I was trying to get us to cross play (Me on PC her on XBox).
As I was a quest ahead of her, I decided to join her game. When I did, the game crashed. No biggy, it’s a beta, so I relaunched the game from the Desktop.
This is where it all went down to brown town.
When I pressed “Play” on the Battle Net launcher, it went to a grey screen then my PC restarted.
Weird.
Then again. And again. Something about Insanity here.
THEN, when I pressed Play on the Launcher it would just crash to black and I had Flashing Amber/Orange Error Lights on my MoBo. Still Crashing and forcing me to turn my PC off at the PSU (I know, absolute insanity, Holding the Power button, pressing restart does nothing).
And again. And again.
So I did a Scan and Repair.
Nope.
Still the same.
Then I did a GPU Driver Reinstall (latest Drivers for NVidia).
Still the same.
Launch as admin? Nope.
Then, late yesterday evening, my PC wouldn’t even turn on. I was losing my mind, I was incredibly upset and my Wife felt bad for me, she knew how much I wanted to play D4 with her.
Anyway, I got up this morning and decided to reseat the RAM.
Okay, PC’s back on. Good start. At least it wasn’t like the previous Beta and its bricking GPU’s.
Will D4 launch then? Nope.
So I re-install the game this morning onto my OS SSD.
I set Compatibility to launch as Admin, I reinstall GPU Drivers, I clear my Cache and Registries.
I close MSI After Burner and Statistics Tuner, any unneeded apps.
Success! I’m in!
I get to the Player Select Screen, press Launch AAAAAND hard crash.
I’m at a huge loss here.
I was so looking forward to trying D4 Server Slam with my wife.
In the last Beta I had zero issues all weekend. Now I doubt I’ll get on at all.

Ryzen 5800X3D
ASUS X570 Strix MoBo
MSI RTX 3080 SUPRIM 10G
32GB DDR4 3600 CL16 Corsair RAM
850W Platinum EVGA PSU
TL;DR Game Crashes, Restarts my PC and even forces me to turn off via the PSU to restart my Computer, every time I try to launch the game and I’ve tried multiple fixes.
Please help D4 Community!
