It seems like there is a large portion of the player base having little to no issues with this, however there are some of us that are dealing with CONSTANT Input latency and rubberbanding when loading or moving into a new area.
I have been dealing with it since yesterday nearly every 10 to 15 min, I didn’t have any issue during the tests. its funny to because several people have come across me while I can’t move and they are moving and using abilities just fine. But I cant move from one spot without being pushed back to the same spot over and over or 30 sec to 1 min input lag. I’ve died due to this latency lag and been revived by someone who ran up revived me and continued on with no issue while I cant move or use abilities due to rubberbanding and input lag.
I would like to see what they say am I just standing still or am I running into a wall whats going on from their perspective while i’m lagging like hell. I have tried several different things to fix this. It’s just this game i’m having issues with no other network issues.
I get 1g up and down, I have tried flushing my DNS , Resetting router, making sure diablo is accepted by windows firewall, running as admin, Making sure drivers were up to date/ windows is up to date, Tuned graphic settings .
I cant for the life of me figure out why its acting the way it is when I had no issues at all during Testing. Is it the Servers and its just a luck of the draw that some people got the short end of the stick? are Zones not loading properly for some. I have several friends playing this game that have had 0 issue. So I am stuck and at a lost I have no idea what to try or do from here.
Any help or ideas from people that have had this issue and either fixed it or tried something that isnt in my list above would be a great help.
Edit: I may have found a fix. Disabling SSDP (Simple Service Discovery Protocol) For those that don’t know this basically is searching for local devices that you can connect to. Why it would effect Diablo IV and only Diablo IV and not other games. If you want to try this just search “How to disable SSDP” in google.
I’m still not certain but I usually run into an issue after playing this long and have had no issues YET Ill update this again if anything changes.
Also of note if you try this if you disable it make sure you also Stop it running if the process is currently running. Also anything that relies on this service will fail to start or be found with this disabled mainly UPnP devices. So keep that in mind.
Edit 2 It lasted for about an hour and a half. Then I got out of a cutscene and it started again. Showing a latency between 1,000 to 2,000 + on a stable internet connection. No idea whats going on.
Did some testing with WinMTR with Diablo 3 ip since I couldn’t find Diablo 4’s Ip. Was getting No packetloss on either end when I ran into Latency issues and Super high ping with rubberbanding. Tried it several time and each witht he same result 0 packetloss, Worst ping showing only 62 but in game 700 to 1000+ ping. Could it be showing no packet loss on their end because im Pinging the D3 server could very well be. But confirmed I was getting no packet loss on my end. So something else is going on.
Thank you
I have just accepted the lag. Eventually you will learn to adjust to 300 ping. When they release Diablo V in 2040, you will be ready for 500 ping to continue the trend
Crazy , Intentional or Poor Quality *RoFL, unsure which one at this point – Trusts issues w Blizzard at this very point. Didn’t have ‘such neg. emotion’ during D3, when I return to game in late 2019 after a break of 5 years.
In all honesty and good faith (if it exists), multiple engineering + QA, during life cycle and design of this game product across so many platforms, OS, devices, should NEVER, NEVER have existing customizable features, that require consumers to keep adjusting “settings and our expectation”.
Online games seem to have a very special niche vs say electronic, white goods purchases / ___ warranties. :s ;S
I haven’t experienced rubberbanding, but I do get the occasional stutter. What is currently plaguing me though is random server disconnects. Since I’m in a dungeon, it keeps resetting me to the start and its stupid annoying. All of this needs to be fixed.
I’ve been getting the occasional hiccup every once in a while since early access, but the last 24 hours or so have been horrible. Rubberbanding, disconnects, insane lag spikes of 1200ms or more. Thank god I’m not playing hardcore right now.
I’m curious… if people who’re having issues go into a dungeon (alone, not grouped) - do you still get the same problems?
Personally I’ve had rubberbanding a single time, and it was only when loading into a legion event where it seemed to throw me into a new layer and load in ~10-11 other players all at once. Assuming other players are the cause (they might not be), then solo dungeons should play perfectly? Just a theory
Rubberbanding, freezes, lagging, stutter – occur all the time, mostly 90% entering new areas from map name A to map name B, and 2nd scenario applies to dismount, mount, gallop, normal click to move the horse.
Keyboard/Mouse inputs totally die off – occur all the time, randomly. 1x every 2-3hrs gametime play, login. SIGHZ
Has anyone discovered anything else going on here? The rubberbanding is the worst I’ve seen it yet today. It’s atrocious and making the game unplayable.
