Ingame Item Tracker please

Hey.

Coming from D2 LoD (skipped D3 til ROS Addon) I had a blast so far in the beta. Got all my chars to 25 and think I will go for Druid or Barb based on what I have seen for PvP and uniques.

I am currently wondering if uniques and ancestral items will have special places where they drop or if they drop anywhere anytime and if we could have a spreadsheet where we could write down how many of item X and where we found them etc.

Currently played D2R and was farming specifically the TZs and obvious places like ancient tunnels and this season I wasn’t really lucky and that can frustrate after a while.

Since launch of D2 LOD I tracked items on excel and I found 12 Shakos, 2 Griffons, 4 Maras, 9 Sojs, 1 DF, 3 NWs, 12 Arachs, 3 Ber, 1 Jah, 5 Sur, 3 Vex, 2 Ohm, 1 Lo, 7 Zakas and, 4 Ists (not counting HF!), 3 Gul (not counting HF), tracked only 1 Viper 35 (lower Res didn’t track)…

To this day I have not found a single Tyraels and not no Ravenlore and I know what I am looking for.

Would be nice to track this ingame instead of on an excel outside of the game.

So a list of uniques/ ancestrals would be cool that we can write down.

Also I am wondering if some items will only drop in special locations (itemlevel) or if everywhere? TZs made D2R really nice being able to find Griffons and other higher lvl items in other locations other than AT, CS etc.

I am really looking forward to D4 and after playing D2 (2004 to 2009) and D3 (2019 to 2020) this seems like a great game so far and I can’t wait for the open world most of us D2 vets always wanted. My friends and I haven’t had a LAN in like 20 years and once D4 launches (1 or two days after release when servers are okay) we will be doing our first 8 person Lan lol. This is gonna be a blast and we are so hyped! We formed two groups and who reaches lvl 50 first is our race.

Imagine 40 year old neckbeards gathering to a location with their pcs all gonna look at us like we are creeps.

In case someone from Blizzard reads this:
My druid really needs a Ravenlore giving me +4-6 to Ranks of Raven and adding a passive that all my ravens are flying around me as a passive. That’d be sick. And please let me find a ravenlore lol once in my life. Flag my account for higher droprate, never found a Ravenlore.

Tldr

Goes on nerdiest and most useless explanation of doing something ever

Calls people neckbeards and attempts insults

Begs for something at end that 1. Wont happen. 2. Isnt possible.

Entire premise of post is asking for a useless mechanic that literally will do nothing, and serve no purpose.

This is why children shouldnt be allowed on these forums.

I called me a neckbeard or what exactly do you mean with insult?
Would a simple spreadsheet hurt you for people who want to track the items?

What exactly made you so mad?

Some people actually want to farm every item possible and would like to track this ingame and not in excel. You didn’t explain what negative impact adding a simple option to track found items with location would have

How does tracking rng actually work? Thats like tracking lotto numbers thinking theres some method to how theyre drawn. There isnt.

Rng is rng. There is literally no point in doing what youre asking or what you say youve been doing since launch of LOD. (If your numbers are true since launch, you simply dont know what you are doing, those are insanely low, and yes, ive played since pre LOD days.)

Something like the tabs with affinity like poe would get part way there

I think having a collection log in the game would be pretty cool, much like the monster log in D3 and such. Having a “book” that unlocks the pictures of each item in game as you find them would be kind of neat, maybe even keeping track of which mob/where you got the item? This would satisfy the completionists and item hunters in game without having to “save” every item in their stashes.

I am not going to communicate further with you. You don’t need this option but you don’t have to insult me. It’s fine, don’t use it if you don’t need it but some people like I want it.

Stop threatning me

Stop spamming my topic and leave me alone I didn’t do anything to you.

Help

Yup, getting an item roll you didn’t want doesn’t make the next anymore likely to be the one you want. Unless there is some kind of bad luck protection(but don’t think any ARPG to this date has had such mechanic).

Well, they said Drowned are more likely to drop…boots (or something). (And it’s true for almost everything.)

That info is shown … where?

At least that should be in-game instead of having to check websites of ppl farming 100k drowned and seeing there’s a 25% higher chance to get pants form that monster family (if they keep track of every item that dropped in their 50h of farming).

EDIT: also aspects (I think) only drop on the item types they can be infused on, so if you want to farm an offensive one you need to go some monster family that has increased chance to drop…weapons or at lest not the ones that drop more boots on average.
Same for “targeting” uniques…because there are 8 (that we know of…and very few for each class are on the same slot), so for higher chance you are hoping for/looking for the type of mob that drops more of that type of item.

Actually, pretty sure even D3 had it (at least for a while…or might have it still).
(As in there was some interview with Jay Willson or someone, about things that happen in the background, and how “it’s not fun to have really bad luck”).

(But it’s too general, it’s not “back luck that you didn’t get that one druid legendary” protection, but “it’s been 75h of GR and no primal, give him a random primal”.)

Not sure what you are asking as this seems like incoherent rambling, a concise TL DR would help the reader understand whatever point you are attempting to convey.

I’m not sure I understand whats being asked here? Do you want to see their database that has all this information or have a UI to enter it yourself? Real confused.

There’s 54 uniques I think each class has eight, except barb which has 9 and then there are 13 all-class ones.

As for farming, I think people are making it out to be a much bigger deal than it is. You will be farming yellows for stats and then taking a legendary, doesn’t matter what stats it rolls since you just want the aspect, and slapping it on that good yellow. This is preferable since the yellows are much easier to farm and only needing a specific legendary to drop, rather than hoping for it to drop with good rolls(apart from the aspect rolls of course), which is a great benefit in my opinion.

I know it’s 54 in the beta version, but I meant we don’t know if there are more in the release build.

Also, I dunno…153% Convention of the Elements is garbage and like multiple Greater Rift levels that you can’t do for that 200% max.

And D4 has Sacred and Ancestral which make the difference between lowers roll and highest even bigger (probably).

Also there are “more than there are in the codex” so 300+ (but it’s class smart loot so probably not THAT bad, yea).

i’m pretty sure you can get 90% items build around your character, it’s familiar like D3, it’s mean less RNG than D2 where your Nec always get a lot of Dfathom and no Dweb…etc. So there’s no reason to get ingame item tracker and ofc there will be a TC like D2 the highest lv area will get a chance to get best end game gear. It just like TZ in D2 if the map scale with your character lv

224 I believe with 120 in the codex.

But you don’t need a 200% to get it going. The point is getting a build going will be much faster. Say you need “When you are struck as a Werebear you have a {20/30}% chance to gain {#} Spirit.” and you roll the 20%. You aren’t screwed and can still extract it use it to make your build work, even if it rolls the most garbage affixes possible. Will it be optimal, no, but you will at least be able to have the skeleton of your build. This will make it easier to farm. Rather than having to hope for perfect affixes and a perfect aspect roll, you are just looking for the aspect roll.

I believe ancestral and sacred are exclusive and are more just the next tier of items rather than like warforging with ancient/primals in D3.

Also, because aspects can only roll on certain types of gear you can farm areas where these types are more likely which makes farming even better.
